Tamagotchis are back in style (not an ad)

Dear users, dear authors,
I’m sure you all still remember those beeping “pets” called Tamagotchi that constantly needed to be fed, entertained, and taken care of. I read on an American entertainment website that these little pets are supposed to be making a comeback soon. I’m not exactly sure how that’s supposed to work—maybe as a beeping app on your phone? Well, who among you would enjoy that?
Who among you would have more fun with a pet from the Crazypatters shop?

I was a kid “back then,” and lots of people in my class and so on had these little creatures, but I was never really into them… I preferred to hoard stuffed animals ;) (including seals I crocheted myself. Looking back, they looked terrible, but I was as proud as can be and loved them)

I can’t really imagine getting into Tamagotchis today—there have been similar apps around for ages.

If anything, there’ll be a two-week nostalgia craze (like with Pokémon GO), and then it’ll be over again :)

I think there are too many alternatives for this to become a big craze.

I also remember when everyone had one. I didn’t care for it at all. I just found it annoying to constantly have to take care of something you can’t even really touch. I much preferred my stuffed animal.

My daughter recently had one of those imitation toys that came attached to one of her magazines. She played with it for a little while—anything new is interesting for a day—then it just lay around until it was completely forgotten. Her only comment was, “That’s no good.”

I found Tamagotchis uninteresting even as a kid because, to be honest, I couldn’t make out anything from all those pixels.
I think they’re even less appealing today because kids have so many high-resolution and interactive toys and apps...
