Crochet Hat for Everyone - very easy

A wonderfully easy-to-crochet hat for different styles, so ONE hat model wearable in all the pictured variations, for both men and women. Also easy to make for children or as a simple hat for babies (though thinner yarn is recommended).

• no gauge (it doesn’t depend on the exact centimeter),
• no increases or decreases,
• for any yarn you like

for the pictured model with a head circumference of 55 cm to 60 cm: approx. 250 g  merino yarn, 50 g – 45 m, crochet hook 6.0; measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle for weaving in ends.

The ribbed pattern requires approx. 50 g more yarn than is normally usual for hats. The crochet hook size should match the yarn used in each case.

Conversion Table for Yarn Quantity, Alternative Yarn for Knitting and Crochet

This is an Excel spreadsheet for converting a yarn quantity from the “original yarn” to an “alternative yarn” of your choice.


Example:

The original yarn named in your pattern has a yardage of 85 m per 50 g. According to the instructions there, you need 600 g of this “original yarn” for your size. But you would like to make your piece in a different yarn (= alternative yarn). This yarn you have chosen has a yardage of 70 m per 50 g skein. You enter this information in the Excel spreadsheet and immediately receive the required quantity in skeins and grams for your desired yarn.

A gauge is always advisable. To determine the number of stitches needed for your individual knitted piece, an Excel conversion table for your gauge is included as a bonus.

Technical note:

My Excel spreadsheets contain calculation formulas and therefore require a so-called spreadsheet program. Calculations would not work in PDF format. So in order to open Excel spreadsheets, a spreadsheet program such as Excel, LibreOffice (available free of charge http://de.libreoffice.org/) or OpenOffice (available free of charge http://www.openoffice.org/de/) must be installed on the respective device. Then the file can be opened with a double-click.

Sock Knitting Course for 4-ply Yarn Using Newborn Baby Socks

This is an illustrated sock knitting course using baby socks size 15 knitted from 4-ply sock yarn and consists of a total of 4 PDF files:

• the main pattern,
• handwritten sketches,
• baby sock chart for sizes 15 - 20
• and a sock chart for sizes 22 - 47.

There is also a brief baby mitten pattern included, since parts of the baby sock pattern can be used for it.

Don’t be alarmed! It is more difficult to describe the process than to knit the socks.


Materials needed:

approx. 15 g 4-ply sock yarn for the baby socks, approx. 10 g 4-ply sock yarn for the baby mittens, for adult socks up to size 44: 100 g sock yarn; if larger, then 150 g is required. Set of double-pointed needles 2.5, measuring tape, scissors, yarn needle.

The baby socks can also be embroidered, for example, and used in various ways - not only as baby socks - e.g. as “packaging” for cash gifts or sweets, as an Advent calendar, as a keychain (scaled down proportionally looks prettier), etc.

Knitting Pattern for Socks with a Simple Heel
My two top picks are these two pairs of socks—one for adults and one for kids. This heel is very easy to knit—no calculations, heel flap, or anything like that.

• This really makes knitting socks and children’s socks fun. They are knitted in the round using a set of double-pointed needles.
  

                          


For the adult socks, you need 100 g of sock yarn; for the small ones, 50 g of sock yarn is enough.

Here I get to introduce my top 3 patterns to you. They are all hat patterns...somehow no surprise, because I love hats and beanies.

For one thing, they are absolutely practical, because hats can be useful almost all year round. Just use a suitable yarn and you can crochet a winter hat, fall hat, and spring hat from just one pattern. And then you can really let loose with the colors and often crochet lots of different variations with just one pattern.

With all three hat patterns, the size can be adjusted very easily to the head circumference, so the hats can be crocheted to fit young and old alike.
