Dear users, dear authors,
As soon as it gets warm, wool isn’t really suitable for crafts anymore. But cotton works just fine, even in high temperatures. In this thread, you can stock up on summer patterns suitable for cotton and get helpful tips .

@Authors,
this is a promotional thread for all authors.
Two to three patterns per author are sufficient.
Be sure to include a link, an image, and information about the materials, technique, difficulty level, and what makes the pattern special.

the pattern is explained clearly and is easy to understand; you knit it with
a set of double-pointed needles, and it requires 50 g of yarn in your favorite color,

This summer scarf is ideal for cotton; it’s very comfortable to wear even on cool evenings or at this time of year. It also knits up very quickly—after all, you don’t have to knit the holes as well :-)
The original is made from a cotton-viscose-silk blend, with a yardage of 84m per 50g, and knitted with 6mm needles. Yarn requirements for a 160 cm long scarf: 3 skeins.

You can find the pattern here.

A pretty cotton bag would be just the thing for summer, wouldn’t it? With the fish motif, it also has a bit of a nautical feel to it.
It’s quick to knit, and you’ll need two colours of cotton yarn (125m/50g), one ball of each, and a 3mm circular knitting needle. The handles are then crocheted. Stitch markers are also helpful.

Zu den Anleitungen / Klick mich

Relaxed crocheting, even in summer :-)
No problem with these patterns,
because they are crocheted with 100% cotton, Schachenmayr Catania Original needle size 3-3.5,
if you crochet more loosely, use a hook 1-2 sizes smaller!

The patterns are described in detail, illustrated, and therefore also suitable for beginners!

P.S. All my patterns are crocheted with 100% cotton :-)

Schachenmayr’s Catania is a perfect summer yarn since it’s 100% cotton. But many other yarns also have this quality and can be used in the same way.

With the crochet pattern for the “Lichterzauber” crochet-covered jars, you can not only crochet with a pleasant yarn in summer, but also make your own lanterns for those lovely evenings on the patio. Plus, you’re helping the environment—all you need is an old yogurt jar, so you’re upcycling too.

The jars also make great gifts and can be recreated in all sorts of colors.

Bring some romantic and cozy lighting to your patio, too. You can find the crochet pattern here: Crochet Pattern: “Lichterzauber” Crochet-Covered Jars

Rivendell is a wonderfully airy knitted shawl made from cool cotton.

Rivendell is knitted from side to side, and the beautiful leaf border is worked at the same time.  The shawl has a slightly asymmetrical shape, and the pattern has a playful, romantic character.

The shawl measures approximately 145 x 70 cm, but it can also be made smaller or larger. You just need to follow the stitch count in the center section as specified in the pattern.

Materials needed:
  • fine cotton or lace-weight or sock yarn, approx. 450 - 500 meters, depending on the desired size
  • Knitting needles appropriate for the chosen yarn.
  • Sewing needle
  • Scissors
The pattern is 7 pages long and includes charts, a written row-by-row version, and a schematic drawing. Basic knitting skills are required.

Difficulty level: easy to intermediate.

Crochet pattern Summer Shirt Crocus

--> Click here for the pattern

When summer comes, you want to wear something airy that also fits comfortably.

This summer shirt in subtle colors is perfect for that and also pairs wonderfully with a nice short jacket.

The summer top consists of three different crochet patterns, which are explained here in the form of crochet charts as well as written descriptions.

The information is for size M/L. Of course, I indicate roughly how many pattern repeats you need to plan for other sizes. There is also an addition for if you have a larger bust, so that the color transition sits under the bust. (For example, my model had a larger bust than the recipient of the shirt, which is why it doesn't fit perfectly here.)

The information also applies only to the yarn I used (pure cotton). The shirt was intentionally crocheted a little smaller, since after 1-2 washes the cotton will stretch downward and widthwise, and only then will it fit airily. If you use a different yarn, first make a gauge swatch and then adjust the measurements (pattern repeats) accordingly.

What you need for it:

Yarn:
200 grams each of two different colors (e.g., white/lilac) of Gründl Cotton Light (100 g = 200 m)
Recommended hook size 4, as well as a yarn needle and scissors

Difficulty level
: Intermediate (beginners with a little practice can also crochet the shirt without any problems)

You should be able to do the following stitches:
chain stitches, slip stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet

A light and airy summer scarf made from cotton yarn really spices up any boring T-shirt!
The combination of lace, cable pattern, and fringe makes this project wonderfully varied yet simple!

The approximate measurements are: Length: 165 cm and Width: 30 cm

Detailed charts guide you step-by-step through the knitting process.

The pattern also includes a detailed, illustrated description for creating the fringe.

As always, gauge is provided—for any necessary adjustments.

a length of approx. 1.85 m x 0.60 m. It is relatively easy to crochet, so even ambitious beginners should have no problems. You should only know chain stitches,
