Spring and summer feature lots of green elements.
If you want to really get in the mood for the outdoor seasons, you should try out plenty of green patterns. Have fun with it :-)

A knitted lightweight piece for all seasons – whether worn over or under – simple, with an eye-catching collar area. Both stitch patterns used are absolutely easy (only knit and purl stitches). The collar design requires a little care. Unlike the “Margit” model, the sleeves are knitted with a sleeve cap. The length is variable.

The illustrated PDF pattern with stitch- and row-by-row instructions is based on a gauge of approx. 14.5 stitches = approx. 10 cm with size 6.0 knitting needles. Because of the cardigan’s relaxed shape and stretch, one stitch more or less is not all that crucial. So it’s no problem if 14 or 15 stitches equal approx. 10 cm. If your gauge differs more significantly, please choose a larger or smaller needle size. The pattern does not include a knitting tutorial, but it does provide relevant link tips.

We need
225 g KidSilk by Austermann, color 40 Emerald, 75% kid mohair, 25% silk, details according to the ball band: needles 3–4, 18 stitches x 26 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm, hand wash, 25 g – 225 m yardage;
Alternative yarns: e.g. Kid-Seta (Schulana) or Kid Mohair/KidSilk (Adriafil) – the same amount for the total back length knitted here of approx. 71 cm. This material is knitted with two strands held together.

You can also use yarns such as Creative Melange chunky (Rico), if the ball bands indicate a gauge of approx. 14 stitches = approx. 10 cm with size 6.0 needles. In that case, knit with a single strand and allow for approx. 100 g more yarn (because of the cardigan length and collar) than recommended on the ball band.

Used here: size 6.0 knitting needles, pins, measuring tape, yarn needle for weaving in ends, scissors, stitch marker, possibly a row counter.

Potholders 'It’s So Green' - Tunisian crochet

A touch of fresh spring green as kitchen décor or for real use as potholders made from 100% cotton – a useful little gift for all kinds of occasions.

Both the pattern for the potholder and the pattern for the crocheted flower(s) are illustrated step by step with pictures.

Material:

For 1 standard-size potholder, 21 cm x 21 cm:
50 g light green + 50 g dark green crochet yarn made from 100% cotton/plant fiber for heat resistance, e.g. Schoeller+Stahl Record 210, 50 g - 90 m, per ball band 16 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm), so 50 g of each color for the Tunisian crochet hook up to max. size 4.5.

For the flower(s), a leftover bit of cotton yarn is enough, e.g. Catania (Schachenmayr) or Limone (Schoeller+Stahl), for crochet hook size 2.5 - 3.5.

Note: heat-resistant cotton yarn (= potholder yarn) is only lightly twisted and therefore difficult to crochet with, especially for beginners, because the yarn splits a lot. So if heat resistance is not that important to you, for example if you won’t place a hot pot on the potholder, you can also crochet with a cotton-blend yarn, e.g. Pantino by Schoeller+Stahl.

In addition, we need a measuring tape, scissors, and a yarn needle for weaving in ends.

General crochet knowledge is sufficient; the Tunisian crochet technique is explained with pictures.

Instead of plain socks, these moccasins are a real eye-catcher.
Using double-stranded sock yarn and with no bothersome heel at all, these shoes are knitted with a set of double-pointed needles. That also makes them suitable for beginner knitters with basic skills.

You will need: approx. 100 g sock yarn for the main color plus matching leftover yarn, size 4 set of double-pointed needles, 2 size 2 knitting needles, buttons, cord, shoelaces, or ribbon.

Gary is a cute little gecko—guaranteed easy-care and house-trained.

Emmy the locomotive comes in bright green. Who wouldn’t want to be a train engineer?
You don’t need much experience to crochet Emmy, because the individual parts are simple shapes and are made entirely of single crochet stitches. You’ll only need a little patience when sewing the individual parts together.

Things are getting really green in my shop – two frogs are hopping around, and Crocodile Cord is shining bright alongside the spring green! All three animals are well suited for knitters who have a bit of experience with a set of double-pointed needles and bring some patience. The reward is wonderfully cuddly animals that will become the best friends of little recipients and, of course, big ones too. Green is this year’s trending color—and for good reason.

Spring is my very favorite season, because I love the fresh green of the budding buds and young little leaves.

The knitted shawl "Auenland" matches this perfectly in a beautiful fresh shade of green.
But the shawl also looks simply fantastic in other colors or even color gradients!

Auenland is a semicircular shawl that is worked from top to bottom. A floral pattern alternates with knit ridges, and the edge is knitted in a wave pattern. The semicircular shape is created through even increases.

Materials needed:

• 2- to 4-ply yarn (lace or sock yarn weight), possibly thicker as well, approx. 600-800 meters
• Circular knitting needle size 3 - 4
• Sewing needle for weaving in the ends
• Stitch markers (2 pieces for marking the center stitches as described in the pattern)

The size after blocking is approx. 170 x 52 cm.
Small tassels made of beads can be attached to the tips of the shawl, but since this is not essential and everyone can decide according to their own taste, it is not covered further in the pattern.

A beautiful color gradient plus a pretty beaded border makes this knitted shawl a real highlight this spring!

Eowyn is a lovely shawl knitted from side to side, which gets its slightly asymmetrical shape from regular increases and decreases.

Sleepy Dinos are an extremely rare species, and that’s a good thing: they’re actually extremely dangerous, because their sleepiness can be quite contagious! So be careful if you happen to find one in your bed at home. It’s best to sneak up on it with slow movements, lie down next to it, and cuddle it tightly! :-)
