Festive Mood (regular promotional thread)

Dear users, dear authors,
some people are currently celebrating Carnival, and others are crafting.
I think we have a lot of users and authors here who’d rather do crafts than go out partying.
In this thread, you’ll find projects that are much nicer than Carnival.

Carnival season is also a time of bright colors, so it’s the perfect opportunity to crochet a colorful pillowcase. How about the “Smile” crochet pillowcase?

Beautiful wrist warmers with an eye-catching Japanese lace pattern that draws everyone’s attention.
You’ll need:
Yarn: extra-fine merino from Fischer Wolle in gray, 2 balls.
Knitting needles: size 4 mm set of double-pointed needles.
Other: 2 stitch markers and a stitch holder or a piece of yarn. The thumb stitches can also be put on hold with two safety pins.

Much nicer than celebrating Carnival is sweet little donkey Joey! 
Joey will be approx. 12 cm tall and is an adorable companion. Difficulty level Easy 
Scope 13 pages (incl. pictures) They are easy to follow and therefore also ideal for beginners! It is crocheted entirely in single crochet stitches. What you need:

• A 3 mm crochet hook
• approx. 20g craft yarn (cotton) in the color of your choice for the body, head, and legs of the donkey. Leftover yarn in a color of your choice for the nose, hooves, and mane/tail. Each yarn should be suitable for a 3mm crochet hook.
• A darning needle, possibly pins, to sew on the individual limbs more precisely at the end.
• Stuffing/craft stuffing
• Scissors
• Safety eyes

Much prettier than Carnival and wearable for much longer, too, is the beautiful crocheted Peara scarf.

The beads worked into this gorgeous scarf give it that special finishing touch. But even without beads, it’s a real eye-catcher. Thanks to its construction, it drapes especially beautifully and can be worn in many ways.
By the way, Peara is Māori and means pearl.

The scarf is variable in length and width, and it can be crocheted with almost any yarn.
It looks especially beautiful in a gradient yarn, e.g. from 100Farbspiele or Laceball by Schoppel.
Size after blocking: approx. 200 x 40 cm

Materials needed:

• approx. 100–200 grams of wool (or 800–1000 meters)
• crochet hook suitable for the wool used (if you crochet tightly, use one size larger)
• beads (e.g. rocailles – the hole should be large enough so that it
• doesn’t sit too tightly on the yarn)
• a piece of very thin wire for stringing the beads
• sewing needle for weaving in ends

The scarf is very suitable for beginners, as you only need to crochet almost exclusively double crochet and chain stitches.
The pattern includes 11 pages, contains a detailed photo tutorial for crocheting in the beads along the edge and in the flower pattern, a written-out version, and charts. Difficulty level: easy.

Not in the mood for Carnival, but in the mood for a stylish accessory to go with a casual jeans outfit?
Then get yourself the knitting pattern for the wonderful Amrun neckerchief.

Clean, almost geometric shapes alternate with an interesting color design. This gives this shawl a sporty touch and makes it the perfect highlight for a spring outfit.
You can knit this shawl with many different yarns, but the yarn used should not be heavier than DK (8-ply yarn).

Materials needed:

• Yarn approx. 600 meters in sock yarn weight (I used 50 grams Drops Safran and 150 grams Rowan Siena 4ply)
• Circular knitting needle in the appropriate size and length (I recommend an interchangeable cable system like KnitPro)
• Stitch markers
• Sewing needle

The shawl is started with just a few stitches at the tip and knitted up toward the neck edge. The finishing edge is knitted on crosswise using short rows. This is described in detail later in the pattern. For the finishing edge, approx. 40–50 meters (approx. 8–9%) of yarn should be allowed for.
Finished size after blocking: approx. 160 x 80 cm

The pattern is 9 pages long and includes written instructions as well as detailed charts.
