Dear users, dear authors,
teddy bears and sleep aids are a great idea if you have monsters under the bed or trouble with nightmares. Of course, homemade bears and stuffed animals are even more helpful. You’ll find the best patterns right here in this thread.

Meet Nelson, the certified sleep guardian! He attended the Sleep Guardian Academy, where he learned how to deal with nightmares, homesickness, and other problems faced by his young clients. His specialty, however, was chasing monsters out from under the bed. Grrrr!

Carlos the Bear also has a diploma from the Sleep Guardian Academy. His specialty is cuddling. He prefers to work under the blanket and snuggles up very tightly to his human child so they always have good dreams and aren’t afraid of the dark. Carlos always finds it a little embarrassing, but he got an A in singing children’s songs!

Hard to believe, but true: Marvin the rhino is an extremely talented sleep guardian. He keeps watch all night long to make sure no one gets too close to his charge. And if anyone dares to try, he’ll give them a good nudge with his magnificent horn.

Even a very sleepy little fellow is Bela the Bear. With him by your side, falling asleep should be no problem, because he’s really wonderful to hold on to.

And if things get really scary, just bring a real dragon into your bed. The Sleepy Dragon, at a good 30 cm long, is a really big guy—perfect for hiding next to. Thanks to the detailed description and plenty of pictures, it’s easy for ambitious beginner crocheters to recreate.

Oops, the Sleepy Dino is, of course, not just 30 cm but a full 50 cm tall :o)

The fearless companion by day and reliable protector by night. Emil the Raven isn’t just a protector, he’s a friend.

Approx. 120 g of yarn, 1 hook, stuffing, and 2 eyes. Single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet. If you’ve crocheted an amigurumi before, you’ll have no trouble with Emil.

Get started right away, and Emil could move in with you very soon :)
Have fun crocheting!!

Teddy bears are always in peak season, making children’s eyes sparkle and getting up to all kinds of mischief on the side.... once everything is done, of course there’s plenty of cuddling...

the elephant with the music box isn’t just a bedtime friend for little ones,
the elephant is crocheted and the music box cord is hidden inside the trunk,
so the music box cord can’t wrap around little hands or feet

Dog Waldemar is the perfect companion for the evening and nighttime hours. With the specified hook size (2.5), he is approx. 17 cm tall and therefore doesn’t take up much sleeping space at all. Of course, he can also be made with a larger hook and will then be correspondingly larger.

Click here and you’ll go directly to the pattern:

Materials:
  • approx. 85 grams of yarn (depending on yardage and weight). E.g. Catania by Schachenmayr
  • Crochet hook size 2.5
  • possibly 2 googly eyes/safety eyes/buttons or similar
  • Sewing needle
  • Scissors
  • Stuffing
  • possibly 1 button

Dear crochet fans, I’m looking for hedgehog and rabbit motifs, as I’m active in several rescue centers. Unfortunately, hedgehogs somehow aren’t really on trend :(

Sad greetings
