Möbius Scarf (not a promotional thread)

Dear users, dear authors,
what is the Möbius technique / a Möbius scarf / a Möbius collar?
I’m sure there are many readers who don’t know this yet and would appreciate some information.

The Möbius scarf gets its name from the Möbius strip, which was invented by the mathematician August Ferdinand Möbius.
I'll quote from Wikipedia (I hope that's allowed):

"A Möbius strip, Möbius loop, or Möbius band is a surface that has only one edge and one side. It is non-orientable, meaning you can't distinguish between bottom and top or between inside and outside."

A Möbius scarf, or loop, is understood to be a scarf knitted in the round using this technique, with one twist in it. Using a special cast-on technique, the loop is knitted outward from the center. It works similarly in crochet. In the end, you won't see a beginning or an end, and if you use a "reversible" pattern (one that looks the same on both sides), the illusion is perfect.
There is also the "false" Möbius, where you simply knit a scarf and twist it once before sewing or crocheting it together. 

I could definitely imagine an advertising thread for that. :-)
