Dear users, dear authors,
The weekend is just around the corner—all you have to do now is get through Friday, but we can handle that. On Friday the 13th, people are usually more cautious than usual and tend to look out for one another. It’s not really an unlucky day. As for the hurricane-like gusts and the onset of winter, we’ll just ride it out. Don’t let it get you down. How are things on your end? I hope each of you has your own guardian angel.

I’ve got a little song on my lips for everyone, a few good jokes to make you laugh, and some friendly people to keep you company. It’s going to be a good day.
Have fun!

I got married on a Friday the 13th. Now, opinions may differ on whether that was a lucky day *laughs*. For me, it was. Generally speaking, I’m not superstitious at all when it comes to the 13th. Every day can be a lucky day—it just depends on your perspective. ;-)

I have driving lessons in a minute, and it’s snowing huge, thick flakes! That’s a stroke of luck for me, because I always think learning under challenging conditions is good—it makes things easier later on. :-)

Well, for me, today—Friday the 13th—is a really nice day, because I have the day off. And that means I can devote myself entirely to my favorite pastime today: crocheting. And while I’m at it, I can look out from my warm living room and watch the wind whistle around the house outside.

All in all, today is really going to be a good day. :) :)

Yeah, I think it’s really cozy, too, when you’re sitting at home in the warmth and it’s miserable outside. Add a cup of tea and a nice craft project—how wonderful for those who can enjoy that today! And the rest of us can already look forward to the weekend!

Dear Josefa,

first of all, I have to say: I really like your "No Advertising Thread" chat threads!
Thank you very much for the good wishes and kind words for us!

Here, Friday the 13th is a day like any other.
I’m enjoying how relaxed my baby is, that all the children are healthy, and that my husband and I are happy together...

Unfortunately, it isn’t snowing here either - once again. It’s gray, cold, and damp outside, but we probably won’t get any snow anytime soon.
I actually prefer that today, because both my mom and my husband are out driving...so I’d rather it not be potentially slippery outside!
Although - just now, as I’m writing these words, a few snowflakes are falling after all...mixed with rain, though...thankfully it isn’t so cold that the roads would become slippery from it...at least not during the day...this evening it will surely be different.

I can use the time to take care of my tax paperwork, because the two older ones are at school, the second-youngest is out with Grandma, and the tiniest one is once again - with a tummy full of breast milk - sleeping blissfully!

And so: See you later...I’m off to my paperwork!

Best wishes, and stay healthy, cheerful, creative, and happy, everyone!

Nina

It’s been snowing here all day—there’s surely a good 20 cm by now. My oldest son had the day off from school and spent the whole morning enthusiastically shoveling snow—at our place, at the neighbors’, and he’s already built a big snowman in the yard.
In a little while, we’re going sledding with friends in the neighboring town, and we’re sure to have a lot of fun.
I’ll be crocheting on the sofa tonight, if I’m not too tired by then ;-)

Friday the 13th is totally chill for me:-)

My husband is still sleeping after his night shift, my older son has holed up in his room, uncle has taken over the cooking, my little one is still at school until the afternoon, my older daughter is at her friend’s, and my youngest is playing quietly....

Outside, it’s snowing and storming, and I can sit here in peace with my needlework and crochet....Ohmm - it doesn’t get any more relaxing than this ;-) (unless I’m asleep)

Like every Friday, things are very hectic at work for me. I often get the feeling that some colleagues think this is the last day of work in their lives and that everything absolutely has to be done today.
But just until 2 p.m., and then I’m out of here too.

It’s stormy here, but no snow yet. I hope it’s snowing heavily back home. We want to go skiing all day on Sunday, and that’s best with plenty of natural snow.

The afternoon is looking pretty quiet. My little one has First Communion class, and I haven’t planned anything except folding the laundry.
I really do wonder every day who produces so many mountains of laundry. But when you’re a bit clumsy and always get food on yourself while eating, you shouldn’t be surprised. And unfortunately, my daughter takes after me in that regard......

And then I want to keep working on the gifts for my mom and my coworker—potholders and a wreath for the door. I still have until March for both, but what I’ve finished, I’ve finished!

@Pe-Ka,

maybe you should translate "patschert" for the German colleagues :-).... and take heart, I have 6 "clumsy ones" at home.
I know Mount Laundry Mountain :-)

Mountain salute ;-)

I’ve finished the first chart from my new pattern and am now heading to the couch to crochet in peace. ;-)
My driving lesson went great (despite the snow!) and if everything goes well, I’ll be able to take my test in just under two weeks. *excited*

@Sabine: Thanks so much for translating.
@Michaela: That sounds great. And driving in the snow is good practice.

I just threw my New Year’s resolutions out the window:
I bought some yarn! :-))))
But it was on sale. I snuck it home. And now I’m crocheting myself a new hat. I forgot mine at the doctor’s office.
I think that’s a good reason for a new hat.
I’m just not quite sure yet if the yarn will work for the design. But I’m going to give it a try now.

And tonight we’re going to see Dieter Nuhr.

I like Dieter Nuhr, too.
I hope you have a great time. :-)

Hi,

“Egon” really let loose here. Snow and storms since around 8 p.m. yesterday.
So this morning I had to battle my way to work through snow, icy roads, wind, and traffic chaos.

On top of that, my coworkers from our department were absent (there are three of us, and two didn’t come), and after work, during the annual inspection, I found out that my car needs repairs running into the three-digit range.

And my husband drove to an event despite another storm warning, which is why I’m a little worried.

So Friday the 13th is turning out to be a “great” day for me.

Should I keep crocheting my scarf, or will the balls of yarn fall down and get tangled up in yarn barf? *laughs*
