Winter is coming in full force now!
You need something that knits up quickly and keeps you reliably warm.

Nelthil is a great knitted cowl that, thanks to its unusual shape, keeps your neck and décolleté reliably warm—without any extra help and without slipping. In the colder season, it gives you a chic accessory for a casual or even elegant outfit.

Required materials:

• 120 grams of yarn (e.g., MyBoshi Goat or similar yarn) = approx. 250 meters
• Size 6 circular knitting needle
• Stitch markers
• Scissors
• Sewing needle

The cowl is started with just a few stitches at the lower point and knitted straight upward. It gets its shape from regular increases.
Finished size after blocking: approx. 63 cm (length) x 30 cm (neck diameter)

Required skills:

Basic skills, centered decrease, brioche stitch

Crochet Möbius Collar 1-2-3-4

This loop/collar beautifully brightens up sweaters and shirts.
It is crocheted from approx. 60 g of a merino yarn with 50 g – 160 m yardage and hook size 3 – 4 (shown here with a 3.5 mm crochet hook) and can be finished quickly in one afternoon. Beginners should allow themselves a little more crochet time.

Other yarns with a suitable hook size can also be used. In my opinion, however, the pattern shows to better advantage in finer yarns.

The Möbius technique in crochet is considerably easier than in knitting. For the illustrated PDF pattern , basic crochet skills are sufficient (chain stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, slip stitch). Link tips for learning to crochet are included.

Simple Crochet Poncho with Möbius Scarf Collar (Loop)

Quick and easy to crochet...
With this crochet method, you can decide while crocheting how large the poncho should be – you simply stop crocheting whenever you like - and the same goes for the separately crocheted Möbius loop.

Poncho and Möbius scarf are made with thick gradient yarn 100 g – 100 m and a 8.0 mm crochet hook. The PDF pattern includes the poncho and Möbius scarf and has photos, but it is not a crochet course in itself.

These crochet skills are required:
chain stitches, single crochet, slip stitches, crocheting in rows, crocheting in rounds.

By the way: in a Möbius scarf, the pattern you make is mirrored, i.e. one horizontal half looks like the right outside, while the second half looks like the wrong inside of the pattern.
This creates sophisticated effects, depending on how the scarf is draped and how the pattern falls.

Materials needed for a loop with a circumference of approx. 60 cm:

• 75g of yarn suitable for hook size 4–4.5 (yarn for hook size 4–4.5 was used here, e.g. Magic Light by Ice Yarns, 360 m per 100g)
• Crochet hook size 4

With this scoodie featuring a detachable hood, you’ll be well-equipped for any weather. The hood can simply be buttoned on or off, so
that you can also wear the scarf collar on its own

• approx. 290 g of yarn (here, “Magic Bulky” by Ice Yarns, recommended needle size 6–8, with a yardage of 130 m/100 g
• Crochet hook size 6
• 3 buttons, 2–2.5 cm in diameter

Each side has a different base color thanks to a very simple knitting technique.

With this pattern, you can knit either a cowl or a loop.
Yarn choice and size are variable.Two-Color Play Cowl or Loop is knitted in rounds,
and has a narrow, diagonal contrasting stripe.Cowl: This circular scarf fits once around the neck
and can be pulled over the head like a hood.Loop: This circular scarf fits around the neck at least twice.This design belongs to the “Two-Color Play” series. What’s special about this series is that it is knitted with two colors,
and through a simple combination of purl and knit stitches, each
side has a different base color, without having to change
colors during a round.At first glance, the striped texture looks like shadow knitting or illusion knitting. The technique is similar; the difference

Cowls are simply always a good fit. This cowl is knitted in the round. It starts with garter stitch, then comes rows with slipped stitches and an easy little snake pattern.
It is bound off with a picot edge.
All patterns are explained in detail. You will need 2 skeins of Bayak (75% yak wool and 25% viscose (cotton cellulose)), with a total yardage of 326 m.

A cozy scarf or shawl simply belongs in every closet.
PaYaLa is knitted with Yak Lace by Pascuali and features a relatively simple lace pattern that’s easy to pick up. The pattern repeat is 16 rows and is clearly explained with a chart. It’s absolutely beginner-friendly.
You’ll need 2 skeins.
It can also be knitted with any other lace yarn, but it should have a total yardage of at least 700m, preferably 800m.

You can never have enough scarves and cowls. There are soooo many yarns, patterns, and shapes—so it’s perfectly fine to have a few more in the closet to choose from.
I’d like to briefly introduce you to my favorites:

1. This knitted winter design can be made as a scarf or a cowl. It gets its character from the yarn’s color gradient.



2. And along with it, a knitted airy-light spring design: the Loop Federleicht. It, too, gets its character from the high-quality yarn, which gently caresses every neck. This cowl is very light, you barely feel it, and yet it is sooo pleasant around the neck and also looks very fashionable.


Third, here’s another recommendation for a free pattern: this neck warmer is really something special. It’s very easy to knit, and by buttoning it in different ways, it gets a new look again and again.

HAMBURG AHOI is a long triangular shawl with a dynamic zigzag pattern. The shawl is knitted in garter stitch from wonderfully warm merino wool and, in this color combination, brightens up a dark blue or white outfit. But other combinations look great too.
You'll need to concentrate a little on the first few rows, but by row 12 at the latest, it practically works itself. And so that you can manage all the bends and changes in direction without any problems, there are lots and lots of pictures and step-by-step explanations right up to the very last stitch.

WOW! This shawl also works up quickly. The yellow lightning bolt in the center of the large, symmetrical triangular shawl draws everyone’s attention, but if you don’t like yellow, it will of course look great in other colors too. The shawl is knitted in garter stitch, with neat edges that are knitted on at the same time. The pattern explains exactly how that works in detail and with lots of pictures.

My crochet pattern for a lightweight summer loop / office loop is great.

Crocheted from a lightweight summer yarn such as Tahiti by Schachenmayr, it is very light and comfortable in spring and summer.

With a yardage of 280 m / 50 g and hook size 4, 50 g is enough to get a size of approx. 58 cm circumference and 29 cm height.

A weekend project, so grab your crochet hook—spring has already announced its arrival.
