I sit in my favorite corner of the sofa in both summer and winter. The only difference is that in winter I have a cozy blanket over my legs—and sometimes my dog, who also loves to snuggle up on that blanket. :-)
For me, it’s always the same spot on the couch. And recently, I treated myself to a very comfortable leather armchair. Now I switch back and forth between the two every now and then.
In summer I’m a total outdoors person, but now that’s slowly coming to an end.
The sofa corner is already well broken in again.
I’m very lucky. I have a wood-burning stove in the living room that I love, and it lets me enjoy the cold weather in the evenings again. When I look up, I’m looking straight into the flames, and it’s always nice and cozy warm too.
Now I’m really just waiting for the snow. To my left I have a whole wall of windows with 2-meter-high panes. When everything outside on the terrace is white and the fire is burning on the other side, it gets really cozy.
The only downside is adding more wood, but luckily my husband often takes care of that, and the kids are always happy when they’re allowed to as well.
Only in the mornings, when no one is there except me, it’s a bit annoying because you have to put your craft project down for ages.
In the summer, my crafting spot changes on a whim from indoors to outdoors—and really anywhere I can find a place to sit—and we have plenty of those in the garden.
Now, in the fall and winter, I have two regular spots. During the day, it’s at the kitchen table. That’s where our family life takes place. Between helping the kids with their homework and chatting over coffee with friends and family, I can comfortably work on my projects there.
In the evening, my go-to spot is the sofa nook next to the fireplace, with my own bright craft lamp that doesn’t bother the others while they’re watching TV.
I love crocheting in the garden the most!
My husband even made me a little side table that sticks into the ground so I can always set my crochet supplies down wherever I want to put my lounge chair!
Now that it’s fall, the couch is back to being my main crocheting spot!
My drawer unit with my supplies sits right next to it and also serves as a place to put things down.
In the fall and winter, I most enjoy doing my crafts in my cozy sofa corner with a view of the garden, and in the summer on the patio under the awning.
Since I don’t have a garden yet, I prefer to crochet on the sofa all year round—under a thick blanket in the winter.
For “simple” projects that don’t require much thought, this pairs perfectly with my other passion—I’m a TV series junkie, so I can enjoy both hobbies at the same time :-)
I can’t really set up a permanent spot, though. I have to adapt to my bosses (my two cats) and see where there’s still a little spot for me ;-)
In the summer, sometimes indoors, sometimes outdoors… mostly outdoors. But now, during the cold season, I’m in my little corner on the sofa. Wool, needles, and my knitting pattern book scattered around me. That’s where I like it best.
