Dear users, dear authors,
“Twinning” (matching outfits) was frowned upon for years. But now it’s totally in—and not just for couples, but also for best friends.
What do you think about matching outfits?
With so many patterns here on Crazypatterns, you can crochet, knit, or sew clothes in multiple sizes, or even all sizes, so matching outfits wouldn’t be a problem at all.
Yes, I find it quite inspiring: It’s exciting when two pieces aren’t exactly the same but have small differences… for example, in color distribution or pattern variations…
This theme would also work great with amigurumi, featuring pairs like Max and Moritz, Grandma and Grandpa, an elephant and a coati…
Hmmm....I think matching outfits are totally silly...
Exception: twins or siblings close in age who are still toddlers.
In that case, I think it’s actually cute when, for example, one child wears a red-and-white tunic and the other wears a white-and-red tunic (so the colors are arranged in reverse).
When I think of matching outfits, the first things that come to mind are shiny nylon tracksuits, mullets, and Mettigel. *laughs*
Some things really don't need to be a thing. ;-)))
Personally, I don’t like matching outfits at all. When I see couples wearing identical jackets—and if it gets really bad, they’re even wearing the same glasses—
I think that’s absolutely ridiculous.
Sure, if I happen to run into a friend and she’s wearing the same thing as me, I find it kind of funny.
But deliberately choosing matching outfits? I think that’s really silly.
Well, to each their own.
My girls went shopping together and actually ended up picking out the exact same sweater. It doesn’t happen often, but I really had to smile at that...
For special occasions and to show everyone around us, “Hey, we’re best friends”—why not? If we did it every day, though, I’d wonder where our individual personalities would go.
To be honest, matching outfits do make me smile a little.
I thought they were totally great back then, too, but I was 14 at the time, and honestly, it would never occur to me now.
I’d have to flat-out refuse to wear my best friend’s style of clothes. On the other hand, I’m also pretty sure she’s not all that keen on my style either.
If my daughter, on the other hand, were to walk around in matching outfits with her friend, I’d think it was absolutely adorable. Simply because that’s exactly how we used to express our bond back then.
Matching outfits with my husband are out of the question for me, too. For one thing, he spends 80% of the day in his work clothes anyway, and after that, it’s the ’60s look.
Good for him, and I like it, but I don’t want a men’s haircut, nor do I have the time to spend hours styling my hair. And just in terms of clothes.... No way :-D
