✨ Quick update: security, protection against sharing, legal matters & redesign

Dear community,

thank you for your ongoing feedback and your patience. Here is a compact status update – without too many internal details, but with clear commitments:

Security (already underway / being implemented)

• Password hashing is being hardened to Argon2.
  
• MFA (e.g. with Google Authenticator) is in preparation; we are evaluating additional factors.
  
• Device fingerprinting and better bot detection (incl. rate-limiting hardening/anomaly checks) are being rolled out in stages - mostly invisible to users - .
  

Protection for your PDFs (planned, with opt-in)

• We are planning a friendly stamp, possibly in the CP look (ring/bar with a pseudonymous QR/code).
  
• Important: Without the express consent of the authors, we will not make any changes to product PDFs.
  
• If we offer it, it will be voluntary via opt-in (globally or per work).
  
• Scanning the QR code leads to a neutral verification page: helpful for buyers (information, re-download after login, etc.), useful for authors (reporting and, where possible, enforcement) – without personal data.
  

Legal matters & transparency (in progress)

• We are revising the Terms and Conditions for users, the Terms and Conditions for authors, and the Privacy Policy in order to properly reflect future changes (including AI/translation, anti-abuse, security features).
  
• Principle: privacy first. No blanket sharing of buyer PII with authors; only with consent, a clear legal basis, or an official/court order.

• We are continuously working through your feedback from the redesign thread and surveys – thank you for the many specific notes!
