Dear Community,

There will soon be an update to our Terms and Conditions (for users and designers) – primarily regarding AI use. We’d like to inform you in advance, as we know that the topic of “artificial intelligence (AI)” is sensitive and raises many questions. So here are the key points right away:

  • Product files (e.g., patterns, designs, PDFs) are generally excluded from AI training.
  • Content will not be used to train external AI models.
  • Images or content with recognizable personal data will only be processed externally if you expressly allow it.
  • There will be simple settings so you can decide for yourself what is allowed.

👉 You can find the background information in the article:
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/ki-einsatz-geplant

Why do we want to use AI?
AI is intended to make everyday life easier for all of us:

  • Spam, phishing messages, and abuse can be detected more quickly.
  • Content will be easier to find – even with imprecise search terms.
  • New reach for designers and the community.
  • The platform will become simpler, fairer, and more useful for everyone.

Before the changes take effect, you will have plenty of time to familiarize yourselves with the new options and adjust your settings.

AI at Crazypatterns is not an end in itself – it helps us make the platform even better and safer for designers, users, and the entire community. Your content and data will remain protected.

We look forward to your questions, comments, and views on the topic – feel free to discuss them here in this thread. 💬

Warm regards
Your Crazypatterns Team

Have a great day,

AI .......

Sounds interesting.
If the AI supports my work and I can still decide whether or not to accept the suggestions, that’s fine.
If I can then find things more easily and quickly, that’s great.

AI ..........
it’s here to stay.
We just have to come to terms with it and make the best of it.

I’m already looking forward to the changes.
😊

I’ve been using ChatGPT for a long time to generate ideas and such, and I find it very helpful to have texts I’ve written polished into a more polished form.

Hey,
I think this is a good idea. AI is here to stay, and when used correctly, it’s a real help.

I don’t have any problem with it at all. ChatGPT is definitely helpful to me.

Best regards, Monika

Personally, I don’t think much of so-called AI = *artificial intelligence*—it might as well mean **NO intelligence**. I have nothing more to say about it

Best regards, Inge

For young people, this is already part of everyday life. For us old-timers, it’s not so easy to get used to something like this.
One thing is certain: you can’t stop it.

After all, we’ve all been surrounded by AI in our daily lives for a long time. Without it, many processes simply wouldn’t function anymore. Just take the logistics industry or medicine, for example.
Google is also a form of AI, as are Alexa, Siri, and all the others. We use eco-programs in washing machines and dishwashers without giving a second thought to how they come about.
It’s incorrect to describe AI as “no intelligence.” “No empathy” would be more accurate.

I think it’s great that Crazypatterns is keeping up with the times.👍👍

AI has become indispensable.
When used correctly, AI is incredibly helpful.

A saying just comes to mind that I think fits here:

If you don’t move with the times, you’ll be left behind.

I know that many people find AI very interesting. I don’t think much of AI at all, because I find it too dangerous.
I just watched a report by Topfvollgold on YouTube about how easy it is to manipulate AI.
There are already thousands of AI videos full of fake news. For example, there is a mushroom video in which poisonous mushrooms are
described as edible. There are similar ones regarding medical information. You don’t have to follow every trend.

Personally, I’m not all that enthusiastic about the use of AI and chatbots. I still prefer face-to-face communication, because AI often doesn’t understand the problems you’re explaining, so you end up getting frustrated and cutting off the conversation.
THAT has been my experience with AI on other platforms.

I much prefer interacting with people rather than with AI, whether in the forum, on the phone, or via a chatbot. If a company can save on employee salaries, that might seem like a good thing at first. But for society, it’s a disaster when machines destroy jobs. Whether it’s the introduction of mechanical looms, automobiles, or online banking. You can’t stop progress, but do we really have to do everything that’s theoretically possible? I’m very glad I won’t be alive in 100 years.
