International Women’s Day on Saturday, March 8, 2025 / Women’s Day

Dear Community,
Women’s Day isn’t actually until Saturday, but I thought I’d start a thread about it today because I’d like to know if there are any events on this topic in your area.
Does the existence of this day signal to you that gender equality is still a long way off, or are you happy about this day?

Oh, these special days are a bit of a mixed bag (there’s even a Toilet Day…), whether it’s Women’s Day or Mother’s Day—it’s nice that people remember them, but it’s a shame if it’s only once a year.
I have no idea if there are any special events here related to it.

This day doesn’t have any special meaning for me. At the supermarket, I’ll be given a rose, and newsletters will be promoting special offers. Is that really the point?
Personally, I feel I have equal rights. 

Anyone who needs this day still needs emancipation, because a woman who stands her ground in life—whether in raising children or in her professional life, both of which, for many women, go hand in hand—is EMANCIPATED. Personally, I don’t think much of days like this, because they usually just involve pretty speeches, but nothing will actually change.
