Knitting a diamond pattern

do you like using the diamond pattern when knitting, or not so much?

The specific pattern you linked to is relatively complicated. It wouldn’t exactly be my first choice. There are simpler variations where you don’t have to keep looking at the chart. 

The term “diamond pattern” refers to a variety of different patterns created using various techniques, such as knit-purl patterns, with brioche stitches (i.e., slipped with a yarn over), with raised floating threads, or even multicolored designs. Based on the name alone, it’s not always immediately clear what each pattern entails or what it looks like. Older patterns often have different names depending on the region. 

I agree with @kruemel-monster, there are all kinds of patterns like that.
I’ve used the simpler versions quite often too, since you don’t have to keep looking at the instructions and I can knit them on the side while watching TV.

I tend to prefer diamond patterns over lace patterns; they appeal to me more.
