Trend: Rugs as Bookmarks (not an ad thread)

Dear users, dear authors,
I just discovered—or maybe invented—a new trend; it’s hard to say for sure. :-)

This is definitely a great idea for anyone who loves to read:
small rugs—crocheted, knitted, knooked, cro-knitted, woven, or even crafted—used as bookmarks.
Tip: They also look great as rugs in a dollhouse.

You can never have enough bookmarks. Whenever I need one quickly, there’s usually none on hand.

Personally, I like the paper ones best. And my little daughter quickly provides me with some she’s made herself. I really appreciate them because they’re oversized, so I can find the page really fast.

But I know lots of bookworms who would definitely jump on this new trend. The only question is whether I can manage that with crochet?

It definitely looks great. It would be something for tablet weaving or for knotting. Or tapestry crochet with very thin yarn.

The trend isn’t new—it’s actually quite old in the truest sense of the word—but it’s still a lovely idea if the yarn is thin enough. That said, I personally like the funny squish-animal bookmarks here on CP even better.
