Start of meteorological fall / Start of school

Dear users, dear authors,
Summer is over, at least meteorologically speaking. Also, school is starting in parts of Germany. How are you all feeling about that right now?

Right now, we’re still enjoying sunshine and 31 degrees here—not very autumnal yet. But I tend to go by the calendar-based seasonal changes; in three weeks, things could look quite different.
I really like late summer—you can still sit outside for a long time in the evenings, but I don’t cook as much during the day anymore. And I’m looking forward to the fall and Halloween decorations; the summer decorations have been up since Easter, and that’s been long enough now.

I don’t have to deal with school and all that anymore—thankfully, that’s behind me. My grandchildren are all grown up, except for one teenager (14), and I’m looking forward to fall—it’s my favorite season anyway. I’m not really a fan of this scorching heat we’re having right now.

With one laughing eye and one crying eye, I’m slowly saying goodbye to summer. It smells like autumn, and it can be so wonderful too. 

I’ll enjoy the days as they come. 

I feel the same as Veronika: soon the pumpkins and acorns can come out of the boxes again and bring me joy. 

I still need to finish my embroidery picture, now that I think of it...
