Knitting socks sideways

Dear users, dear authors,
How do you knit socks sideways? Is it easier or harder than heel-to-toe or toe-up socks?

I haven’t read anything about it yet.

I took a look to see how it’s supposed to work.
I don’t think this will become my favorite way to knit socks—
if I ever even try it.

I just finished knitting one... I just had to see how it felt on the needles.... Bottom line: there’s a seam that bothers me a bit, and you can’t adjust the size while you’re knitting...
St. Nicholas can come....

I’m actually thinking about whether I want to knit a whole pair. But then in a different color combination 🤔😊
At least now I have a rough idea of the size. 

Patterns for knitting socks sideways are printed on every skein label of Hundertwasser sock yarn (by Opal). My kids loved wearing one sock with a horizontal pattern and one with a vertical pattern. But the horizontally knitted ones hardly stretch at all widthwise (which makes sense), and the seam gets in the way. Personally, I didn’t enjoy knitting them—it’s just that the result looks really cool.
