Many things from packaging simply end up in the trash, even though you can still conjure up so many beautiful things from them. You’ll also find a few upcycling ideas in my shop.
I have dedicated an entire collection to the
surprise egg figures. Here, empty surprise egg capsules are crocheted around, creating truly original little gift packages where you can hide another surprise inside.
One example is the
surprise egg ghost
I crocheted it from leftover glow-in-the-dark yarn. This yarn is white in daylight. If it sits in the sun or under a lamp for a while, it glows greenish in the dark. Isn’t that a spooky-cute little gift for horror fans, for example at Halloween?

Empty toilet paper rolls don’t have to end up in the trash either, because they are wonderfully suited for making little gift packages or decorative objects, for example with
Chef Charly
Charly’s lower body is a cardboard roll crocheted around. The upper body is crocheted separately so that you can take it off. This way, you can hide a restaurant voucher, a special recipe, or a delicious treat in Charly’s belly.
For this
forklift
plastic straws and a small sponge were reused. The forks can be raised and lowered. You can also use the forklift to present a gift by placing the package on the forks and having the forklift “hand it over.” How about a voucher for the hardware store?
