Dear users, dear authors,
here in this thread you’ll find patterns for upcycling or for making good use of leftovers / leftover yarn / fabric scraps of all kinds.

@Authors,
2-3 patterns per author are enough. Don’t forget links, images, info, etc. All patterns advertised here must have at least 10 sales / a CR of at least 2% and must not have been presented in the past 3 weeks.

We’re all environmentally conscious and don’t throw anything away. You can always make something out of it, right? For example, I make leather soles for my felt shoes from old leather jackets or bags. If you add leather soles to your felt shoes, they last four times longer than if you just coat them with latex. That makes sense: the leather protects the felt, so you don’t wear through them as quickly. And felt shoes with leather soles don’t slip. The rough side of the leather faces outward.

Every now and then, you probably buy something at the supermarket in those little plastic buckets. You can eat the contents - and turn the bucket into a lovely, colorful storage basket for your desk. I’ll show you two ways to transform the plastic containers into something beautiful. Later, they’ll have room for pens, paintbrushes, or whatever bits and bobs you have. Very nice for a child’s room or craft room. We crochet with lots of colorful leftover cotton yarn. So it’s also a great way to use up leftovers.

Many things from packaging simply end up in the trash, even though you can still conjure up so many beautiful things from them. You’ll also find a few upcycling ideas in my shop.

I have dedicated an entire collection to the surprise egg figures. Here, empty surprise egg capsules are crocheted around, creating truly original little gift packages where you can hide another surprise inside.

One example is the
surprise egg ghost
I crocheted it from leftover glow-in-the-dark yarn. This yarn is white in daylight. If it sits in the sun or under a lamp for a while, it glows greenish in the dark. Isn’t that a spooky-cute little gift for horror fans, for example at Halloween?

Empty toilet paper rolls don’t have to end up in the trash either, because they are wonderfully suited for making little gift packages or decorative objects, for example with
Chef Charly
Charly’s lower body is a cardboard roll crocheted around. The upper body is crocheted separately so that you can take it off. This way, you can hide a restaurant voucher, a special recipe, or a delicious treat in Charly’s belly.

For this
forklift
plastic straws and a small sponge were reused. The forks can be raised and lowered. You can also use the forklift to present a gift by placing the package on the forks and having the forklift “hand it over.” How about a voucher for the hardware store?

You can find even more ideas for gift packaging here!
