Vacation Plans for 2024

Dear users, dear authors,
Are you currently on vacation / holiday? What are you doing? Do you have plans for this vacation, or perhaps for your summer vacation?

I need a vacation from my last vacation. Last week, I spent a few days alone with my almost 5-year-old daughter at a family hotel, and we were on the go the whole time—from breakfast to the indoor pool, to the on-site movie theater, then the playground, then painting plaster figures, then a quick breather at lunch, back to the playground, another swim, then finally dinner, followed by a kids’ disco, and then finally a restful bedtime... and the next day, pretty much the same thing all over again

In the summer, we’ll (hopefully) take it a bit easier—a vacation rental on Lake Müritz with my grandma, my husband, and the kids. The range of activities there isn’t quite as overwhelming.

I’m planning to go to Carinthia again.

Hiking, enjoying nature, sitting on a nice bench and crocheting🌞😎

It looks like we’ll end up staying home.
Unless, that is, we find people near the Walsrode Bird Park who’ll let us stay with them.

Retirees are always on vacation—or never, depending on how you look at it. The big advantage of being older is that you can do whatever you want, whenever you want. The big downside is that eventually, you can’t do anything anymore.
Since my husband can no longer travel, we’ll be staying home all year round, but we’ll definitely spend some time enjoying the summer on the balcony. And I’m already looking forward to the summer flowers—once they’re in the pots and planters, it’ll feel just like a vacation!
