Hello everyone,
Tomorrow, the colorful, hand-sewn summer dresses (see forum posts
“Summer Dresses for Daycare” and
“Children’s Dress with Ruffles” ) will be given to my granddaughter, who will then be 2 years old. And in case it gets chilly, I have sewn
two matching boleros. The pattern (purchased on CP) includes various design options. I sewed a simple bolero “without any frills” and, at the same time, a more elaborate one with ruffles and balloon sleeves. I’ll definitely try out more variations.
So that I already have a helpful reference to look at, I documented the making of the boleros in a
blog post on CP “Sewing a Bolero for Beginners.”
Here are the two summer dresses again:
And this is what they look like with the bolero added:
Now I’m curious to see what Lisann and her mom will say about them tomorrow. Maybe she’ll let herself be persuaded to pose for a photo wearing them. But I suspect that tomorrow, on her birthday, other things will be more exciting.
Best wishes, Ina
