Bread basket or storage basket

Depending on how you need or want to use it, this basket is also from the book *Sewing Beautiful Things from Fabric Scraps*.
You can easily make it yourself—the bottom has a diameter of 20 cm, and the rest of the measurements follow from that :-)
Made from coordinating fabrics, this basket also works well as an Easter basket. When my three were still kids, they’d get

Dear Inge, I’m so glad you dug out the book "Schönes aus Stoffresten nähen" again. That’s already piqued my interest. I really love the bread basket and the cosmetic bags from the other thread! And every seamstress has fabric scraps, after all. Thank you for mentioning the book, too. I’ll be on the lookout for it now. I remember your fabrics well—at least the lining fabric. You once sewed a cosmetic bag out of it, too.

Yeah, Ina—your book flea market got me thinking, “Hey, take a look at what books you have in your closet,” :-)) and it reminded me of quite a few things ;-) :-) I won’t be selling any books myself, though, because I have three daughters and two granddaughters who sew and have already put in requests for the books :-)

I can totally understand that. If I were sitting right at the source, I’d set something aside for myself, too. It’s nice when things stay in the family. Maybe you could write a personal dedication or a “wise tailor’s saying” in the front of the books—that would make them even more personal.
