Teddy bears...

I sewed these myself; I’m showing a small selection today—
this is just a tiny fraction of the teddy bears I’ve sewn over the years. Not a single one of them is still with me—they’ve all gone

to my grandchildren, friends, and the children’s charity. Love, Inge

What a cute teddy bear parade!

Wow, Inge, I’m impressed. Each one is cuter than the next. The one with the white and brown bears on it—a friend of mine once sewed one just like that for me—by hand! It looked just like the brown bear, just without the contrasting colors.

Monika, these teddy bears are all sewn by hand—even the big one in lederhosen. He’s 75 cm tall, after all, and my husband and I designed this Sammy ourselves. It took about 3–4 weeks until he finally looked just like you see him here; today, he’s sitting in my youngest granddaughter’s room. The teddy bears I’ve sewn range in size from about 5 cm to those 75 cm ones, and every single one was sewn by hand.

Oh, what a cute bunch of teddy bears. Beautifully made. I used to sew some myself back in the day. But I didn’t make nearly as many.

Wow, Inge, that’s truly an incredible labor of love you’ve put into this!

Great work, Inge. Each one is cuter than the last. I would’ve picked the white bear with the red paws or the one with the pants.
Your teddy bears are all so cuddly.

I once sewed myself a little teddy bear out of that paw-print velvet, too—with movable arms and legs (without joint discs)—but it somehow got lost during all the moves. It even had a suede vest on. I would have loved to show it to you all.

I’ve sewn quite a few teddy bears too—this was one of the first. I made it from an old Persian lamb jacket that I traded for on a swap site; No one wears it anymore, but it would be a shame to throw it away—so I turned it into a teddy bear.

Then there was an old rabbit jacket from a friend that also became a teddy bear. And it even has its own dog!

I really like this sewing pattern, and I already have some plush fabric on hand to sew another one—the head moves, and this teddy is disguised as a tiger!

Dressing up and camouflaging are really popular here—there’s even a rat that passes for a giraffe, a “girrat,” so to speak....

And then there’s a store that sells teddy bear surprise bags—they contain everything except the stuffing; you just pick the size, and that’s all you know. I still have one of those surprise bags lying around here; I’ve already used one of them:
