Peep, peep, peep

I made some chicks today—one for myself out of cotton fabric, though it didn’t turn out that great, and some from plush scraps.
The chicks are pretty easy to make. You need a circular piece of fabric—mine were 18 cm in diameter, but you can make them bigger or smaller. Using a needle and thread, sew a gathering stitch around the circle about 1/2 cm from the cut edge, pull it together a little, but leave it open enough so you can stuff it with stuffing. Then pull the *hole* closed and secure it with stitches. Cut out the comb and beak from felt, sew both on by hand, and either embroider the eyes (a better option for kids) or glue them on. And there you have it—your little birds are ready!
