Cheep, cheep, cheep

I did a little crafting—made some little chicks out of cotton fabric. It works, but it’s not quite as cute as when you use plush fabric. All three of them are now perched in the corner in front of my TV, waiting for spring to arrive.
These chicks are really easy to make. Cut out a circular piece of fabric—mine are 18 cm in diameter, but you can make them bigger or smaller. Make a gathering stitch about 1/2 cm from the cut edge all the way around the circle, then pull the whole thing together. Before it’s completely closed, stuff it with stuffing and sew it shut. Then cut out a beak and comb from felt and sew them on by hand. For the eyes, either embroider them on or, as I did, glue them on—if the chicks are for children, it’s better to embroider them on. And there you have it—the chicks are done!
