Dear users, dear authors,
dear little helpers,
what are you working on this week? Were you able to finish a project, or are there more UFOs? How’s your yarn diet going? Have you bought more yarn or worked through your stash? Tell me all about it.

I haven’t bought any new yarn, and January is almost over.

On the other hand, I bought myself some embroidery needles and have been busy embroidering — I also have a large stash of fabric and thread from my mother’s estate.

I also bought two sheets of felt. I’d like to try sewing something for Easter with them, but I haven’t started yet.

My headband made from leftover yarn is finished being knitted. It just needs to be bound off and sewn together.

Result: Today I already cleaned the dining room windows, baked a loaf of bread, and stitched a few cross-stitches.

I’m happy with my day.

I’m working on using up leftover yarn from my jacket—it’s too short for my liking. Since I didn’t want to add buttons or anything like that, I knitted myself a belt, but it looks too boxy and short to me, so I’m going to knit something on to the bottom of the waistband. I have enough yarn for that :-)

Yesterday I bought some yarn for a pair of socks for myself, but I won’t be knitting them—my daughter will. I can’t hold the thin needles you use for socks anymore; my hands cramp up.

Love, Inge

The day is still so young, and you’ve already been hard at work.

Today was “haircut day”—meaning I cut my husband’s hair and he cut mine. We’ve been doing this since the pandemic (2020). Back then, the hair salons were closed, so we took matters into our own hands. We’ve gotten really good at it now. I used to spend 50 euros a month at the salon, which means I’ve saved 2,400 euros over four years. Crazy, right? I was able to invest all that money in yarn :-)

Later, I’ll cut out the fabric for a kids’ summer dress. But first, it’s time for a cup of coffee and a few homemade sugar-free oatmeal cookies. Have a lovely afternoon, everyone.

Love, Ina

Yarn diet? Neither one nor the other, Josefa—no reduction in my yarn stash due to “new additions.” I still have some UFOs, too. So, no change.

I’m working on my mosaic crochet blanket every now and then, and trying out a little something on the side. Otherwise, same as always.

Hugs, Andrea

Yarn diet? What a nasty word! 🤣 Just today I received a new yarn delivery, because of course, with all my scraps and stash, there was exactly one color missing for a project.
But otherwise, I’m making good progress on using up my stash—I’ve already finished a few Easter bunny orders, with a couple more to go, and all of them made from existing scraps.
The “Temperature Snake” is made from the leftovers of the “Temperature Blanket.”
I’m working on a summer sweater from the bobble yarn set aside for it, and after that, I’ll make a summer jacket from the next bobble yarn, which I already have on hand. So things are going well.

I was so productive yesterday and my 🐑 was finished

But you can’t really make out the face 😞

So I unraveled it and started over

Yesterday I spruced up a simple sweatshirt jacket for No. 4, which led to No. 3 bringing me a sweater that also “isn’t pretty enough”…that one’s up next, before I have piano lessons, pick up Junior (torn ligament since Sunday…) from school, make a quick stop at home, then have to go with my husband to our firm’s tax advisor…then pick up Mini from kindergarten, later take No. 3 to judo…

…so I really don’t have time to stick to a yarn diet…a woman has to be allowed to have a little fun somehow…
😂

Wow, Nina, you really made that look lovely. It turned out great—especially with your busy schedule.

I finished my bunny yesterday. Now Easter is just around the corner...
