Dear users, dear designers,
what are you hoping for in 2024? Do you have plans, goals, and wishes?
How are you doing right now? What’s on your mind when it comes to crafting and real life? Let me know.
As for my wishes, Josefa, I don’t have many—just that there will finally be peace in the world, and that my husband and I stay healthy, as does my family. Everything else can somehow always be worked out and sorted.
I stopped making plans and goals for the year a long time ago, because life always turns out differently than you expect, so I can spare myself the pre-programmed failure and the frustration that comes with it. I just take life as it comes, because there’s not much you can change anyway.
Things are slowly getting better again. I can already do short crafting sessions without my hands going numb or swelling up. I’ve been struggling with a nasty, itchy rash for two months. You probably know how long the wait times are for a doctor’s appointment. An “emergency appointment” then revealed that it’s an allergic reaction (no idea where it came from or what caused it). Now I have to take four (!) allergy pills every day to keep it from flaring up again.
I’m trying to get an appointment as soon as possible to figure out where it came from. It wasn’t possible because of all the holidays.
Some prankster canceled my internet service. It wasn’t exactly easy to convince people that I wasn’t the one who did it. I guess these are just “little niceties” because someone can’t accept the breakup...
Well, things can only get better from here, at least I hope so.
I’d like to finally get back to my crafts. I had so many projects started and planned.
One wish: that people finally come to their senses and peace returns.
I have various goals and wishes.
It remains to be seen how far I’ll get this year with the goal I’ve had for quite some time.
In any case, I’ve decided for myself that things are finally going to get better.
“Yes; just make a plan, just be a shining light! And make a second plan—neither of them will work out.”
I totally agree with Inge—we don’t make any big plans here anymore, at most the shopping list for the next day, and even that doesn’t always work out. 🤣
Yeah, I do have a few wishes—peace at the very top of the list—but that’s one of those things. We don’t have any material wishes; everything else you can hope for, wish for, or dream about, but otherwise, all you can do is wait and see and have a cup of tea.
When it comes to crafts, I have quite a few plans and ideas, so it’s quite likely that I’ll be able to—and will—put quite a few of them into practice, and then you’ll get to see them here.
Yeah, the shopping list....
As my mom got older, she enjoyed going to so-called “brain-jogging” classes to stay mentally sharp. And because she simply enjoyed it (and she really was sharp right up until her last day).
One time, the homework assignment was to write a shopping list and then go shopping without it to see how much you could remember. Ha, that’s part of my regular training routine—I like to leave the list behind once in a while. And the result… um… I think I’m more of a creative type… 🤣🤣🤣
