They always say that schadenfreude is the greatest joy. YES, I’ll admit it—I’m an anti-Bayern fan.
A club that can assemble a squad unlike any other through its expensive signings has, in my opinion, nothing to do with “NORMAL” soccer anymore.
So when a third-division club wins with all its heart against this money-driven club, I can honestly be happy. Maybe it’s because of a certain arrogance: “Oh, what a stroke of luck—we’re playing against a third-division team. We can just experiment and see what kind of lineups we can put together.” Well, that backfired on Bayern.
Soccer—and every other sport, for that matter—is so much about emotion and the will to win. Many athletes who earn sooooo much money these days just can’t pull that off anymore.
