Thanks, Josefa, and wishing everyone here a lovely weekend too,
Mine will be very relaxed. I got my COVID booster today, and then we went shopping. Now we’re waiting for the vegetable soup to finish cooking; we’re both hungry 🤣
Thank you for your kind wishes, which I’m happy to pass on to everyone here.
It’s getting noticeably cooler here—rain today, sun tomorrow. We’ll finally be pruning the raspberry bushes then. We’ll leave just a few standing that are still bearing raspberries, which we’ll let ripen a bit more. They just aren’t ready to accept winter yet.
Now I finally have the time and leisure to write patterns again. I’m hard at work on them.
Thank you very much for your weekend wishes. I’m happy to send them back to you.
I just have to work again this weekend (late shift). But I have today off.
My husband and I took a little autumn walk in glorious sunshine, and afterward we went out to eat at the café of a senior residence. Non-residents are allowed to have lunch there too. Sliced meat with mashed potatoes, beetroot, and applesauce on the side. It was very tasty. I didn’t have to cook.
Then off to the couch to crochet. Relax a little.
I’m actually in the middle of thinking about gifts. This year, there will be quite a few dish towels and dishcloths under the tree. But I’m still crocheting my pennant garland for little Felino. Somehow, my day is just too short for everything, or maybe I let myself get distracted by other things too easily.
Advent and baking are still a long way off. I won’t start until mid-November.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. I’m planning to do some crocheting and go for a walk.
Thank you—and from me, too, a wonderful weekend to everyone here!
This year we’ll have three Advent calendars—the older we get, the wilder it gets 🤣. My husband is getting one filled with chocolates; he loves to snack. I treated myself to the one from Lacritza again—it’s full of yarn, patterns, and all that—and for both of us, there’s a “Good Luck” calendar with little jars of jam; a friend brought it over a few days ago so we’ll always have good luck in the house.
I’ll put up the Advent decorations just before the first Sunday of Advent; until then, the pumpkins and the rest can stay where they are.
The weather was really nice today, but I didn’t go outside at all—I got my first shingles vaccine the day before yesterday and I’m feeling a bit run down, and my arm hurts a lot, so I’m just resting.
Veronika, I hope you’ve recovered from your vaccination by now. I had my second shot on Thursday and my arm still feels a little sore, so I won’t be able to sleep on my left side again.
It’s not so easy for me to get into the Christmas spirit this year, which is why I’m not really making much progress with the decorations. But I just decided to crochet a Christmas elf for my little granddaughter. I first learned about this tradition from my older grandchildren, and I think it’s so cute that I crocheted one of these little elves for us, and he’ll be keeping me company again this year…
Thanks—yes, I’m back on my feet and can sleep on my left side again. But for three days, that just wasn’t possible. Oh well, the second one isn’t due for another few months—by then, I’ll have long since caught up on all the sleep I missed. 🤣
