Dear users, dear authors,
the clocks will change overnight from Saturday to Sunday. When switching to winter time, the clock is set back one hour. I’m just telling you so you don’t forget.
Are you in favor of abolishing the time change?
This is something I’ve been waiting for for a long time! This time change hasn’t done anyone—neither people nor animals—any favors. The energy-saving aspect was also a total flop. Now, it seems no one is brave enough to put an end to this nonsense.
Wishing everyone a relaxing weekend—make the most of it.
Thanks, Josefa, and have a great weekend, everyone here.
Yes, I think this whole time change thing should be abolished, and saying it can’t be done is just a lame excuse—because otherwise people would actually have to get off their butts. If we really wanted the time to go back to the way it was before, it could be done just as quickly as back then when they forced this on us, moving the clock hands back and forth every six months.
I thought it was utter nonsense from the start, and the older I get, the more problems it causes me too.
I absolutely hate the time change! I don’t like how it gets dark way too early all of a sudden.
Yeah, even though that’s supposed to be the “right” time.... I think it’s terrible!
I’d be in favor of permanent daylight saving time. But I don’t think we’ll ever see the time change abolished. And yet it’s totally pointless, because it’s been shown that it doesn’t save any (energy) costs at all.
Oh, and I have a little mnemonic for the eternal question “forward or back—which is it?”:
In the spring, we move the garden chairs out onto the patio (daylight saving time); in the fall, we bring them back into the basement (standard time).
A wonderful weekend to everyone from me, too!
Since we’re no longer working, the time change doesn’t really bother me—I can sleep as long as I want. But it really doesn’t make any sense, and for shift workers, it’s just a nightmare, so let’s get rid of it. Will I live to see that happen? I’m 65, so I’m not exactly sure about that either. 🤣
We’ve had contractors in the house for a week now, starting at half past seven every morning—that was really tough for me, since I’m not used to getting up in the middle of the night anymore. And I’ve become a cleaning pro in the meantime—there’s always so much mess, and even this weekend there’s still quite a bit to do. But if anyone has questions about any cleaning systems, I could give a lecture on the subject now. 🤣
So my crafting is taking a back seat right now—I manage to work on a row of the temperature blanket every day, but not much more than that.
And I’ll be catching up on some sleep today and tomorrow, whenever I take breaks from cleaning.
I wouldn’t want to miss those long summer evenings….
The fact that it gets dark earlier during standard time… well,… it does bother me a
little… after all, the best photos are taken in daylight… so I always have to crochet faster and faster before it gets too dark…. 🕯️
