Make Your Own Christmas Nativity Scenes and Figurines

This thread offers plenty of space for patterns for Christmas nativity scenes and nativity figures . Having your own nativity scene at Christmas adds an extra touch of coziness. Have fun crafting!

If you’d like to feature many nativity figures, you don’t have to stick to the usual limit of 2–3 patterns, but all patterns featured here must be related to the topic of Christmas nativity scenes or nativity figures. Don’t forget to include links, images, information, etc. 

What could be more beautiful than a handmade Nativity scene? If you can crochet, you can make the Nativity figures yourself and give your imagination and creativity free rein. Often the Nativity figures can be made from leftover yarn you already have, so you don’t have to buy extra yarn for them.

The figures I’m introducing to you here are about 10 cm tall. I think this size is ideal: they don’t take up too much space, and at the same time the details can still be worked out nicely.

You can make your Nativity scene as extensive as you like: first you start with the Holy Family, then perhaps the animals: ox and donkey and a few sheep. Then the shepherds are added, one or more Christmas angels... and finally the Three Wise Men in magnificent robes and with exotic animals.

And if you’d like one more addition, these little music angels are a wonderful size match for the Nativity figures. They are about 8 cm tall and joyfully proclaim the birth of Christ with their musical instruments.

For everyone who prefers knitting to crocheting, I designed these nativity figures. It’s so much fun to finish one little figure after another and let your own creativity flow into them.
