Dear users, dear authors,
Is it really possible that it’s too warm for you to craft?

That’s not the case for me.
Even though I’ve slowed down a bit, I’m still knitting and crocheting.

No, crafts aren’t affected by the weather. I can always find something to work on. Once one project is done, it’s time for the next one.

Best regards, Ina

It’s never too warm for crafts. If your hands get too “slippery” while crocheting or knitting, you’re sure to have something else to sew together, a craft project to work on, or you can simply start thinking about your next projects.

It’s way too hot for me to make anything; I’m suffering terribly in this heat. Hopefully it’ll cool down to a normal temperature soon.

Best regards, Inge

I’m always able to get something done. It might be a bit slower, but I never run out of ideas.

Today, the rocking chair got its first coat of paint

I painted some stones

And I need two small gifts—so I’m crocheting dish towels on the side

Well, you can always do something, but I have to admit, I’m getting slower and slower. This constant muggy heat, plus nights that don’t cool down at all, is really starting to take its toll.
I made the beds today and it took me over an hour to get everything back in order—that’s never happened to me before.

I’m definitely one of those die-hards who won’t put down my knitting needles even in the heat. But right now, I can only manage it in the evenings. With the temperature hitting 30 degrees in the garden, even the slightest movement feels like too much for me right now. But I’ve only been feeling this way since today. The last few days were still pretty manageable.

But as soon as it cools down, I’ll be back to knitting—even during the day.

It’s not that hot where we are. A high of 26 degrees and often cloudy. Beautiful summer weather! I love summer, and the warmth is part of it.
I only knit in the evenings while watching TV anyway, so it’s usually cooler by then. This morning it’s only 15 degrees—I’m almost freezing 😅

It’s not just the heat that’s slowing me down—it’s also the bandage and splint on my right hand. Tonight I knitted the first few stitches on my patchwork sweater—it’s just going slowly, and I don’t want to overdo it. I can’t even imagine working with merino wool right now; just the thought of it makes it stick to my hands! I hope to be able to spend a little more time with my knitting or crochet needles this weekend, when the temperature drops and we hopefully get some rain again.

Christina, I hope you get well soon, that everything heals nicely, and that your needles will be clacking away again just like before.

It’s hard to work as quickly (or rather, knit as quickly) when the knitting needles get all sweaty in these temperatures.
But then I just switch to embroidery, weaving, painting, or…
In the evening, when it’s cooled down a bit, things go a little better.
Does anyone know a trick for dealing with sticky knitting needles??
Thanks in advance, and “Happy crafting”!!
