Hoodies / Hooded Sweatshirts _not_ an advertising thread / discussion only

Yeah, I know, this doesn’t really fit the weather :-)
But, dear authors and users, hoodies are really trendy in 2016. You’re actually not supposed to call them plain old hooded sweatshirts anymore.
What do you think of hoodies? Do you like them? Do you own any? Could you imagine sewing a hoodie yourself sometime? Have you ever sewn hoodies yourself?

It’s funny how it works… give something a new name and suddenly it’s “trendy.” ;-)
I’m not really a fan of hoodies. I did bring one back from New Zealand, but it’s basically just hanging in my closet.
It’s just not my style. Although there are some crocheted hooded jackets that I think are really chic.

Personally, I love (and have always loved) hoodies.
Maybe because I’m part of the “skater generation”?!
All three of my kids (who are between almost 15 and almost 2) wear hoodies often—even the youngest has some I crocheted myself...

I think they’re great—it’s nice that they’re a trend (again)!

I really like my hooded jackets and hooded sweaters.
However, I’ve only ever knitted them in baby sizes. I don’t like it when they don’t fit right, and the patterns I’ve seen so far haven’t convinced me. On top of that, the amount of yarn used and the amount of work involved go way up when you add the hood.
Unfortunately, sewing hasn’t been worth the effort for many years now. The fabrics are way too expensive, and the look usually leaves a lot to be desired. I’d probably stick to knitting instead.
