I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. What are your plans?
How’s your garden doing?

Thanks, Josefa—wishing you and everyone else here a wonderful weekend, too.
It’s supposed to get pretty warm again here, and we’ve had a bit of a commotion with the burst pipe in the bathroom, so the plan for the weekend is: put our feet up and do nothing!
Though crocheting is fine, of course, and reading, too. I did all the laundry yesterday, and I’m not going to clean anymore either, but I’m definitely sleeping in! We’re not used to getting up early anymore, and all the contractors always say they’ll be here at 8 a.m., even though it’s guaranteed not to happen until 11.

We had rain this week - that did the garden good. But far too little, and I'm already walking through the garden with the watering cans again in the evenings. But everything is growing and thriving, so my work is worth it. 

We do have a few plans and will enjoy the days. 

I'm crocheting a blanket - but with a summer yarn, so that always works. 

Veronika, I hope your contractors are finished soon. The constant cleaning when they leave is no fun.

We’re also being (relatively) lazy this weekend; two loads of laundry are done, and my closet decluttering project is in its final stages (I still have to tackle the hallway closet with jackets and coats). I also have endless watering to do, but it’s supposed to get cooler starting tomorrow. Crocheting and knitting are always possible, of course—even if it’s in the evening or at night. (Perk of being retired.)

I’m once again creating the basis for having to search for my stuff in the sewing room ;-) because when nothing is tidied up, I immediately find everything I need, but woe betide me if I ever create order in the room, then I’m guaranteed to be looking for one tool or another, because it’s exactly where it belongs ;-) :-)
The other day my oldest daughter gave me some children’s bed linen from the grandchildren, and now I’m sewing things from it; I’ve got quite a few ideas in mind. It’s already been through the washing machine, and in this heat the stuff dries in no time

The vegetables are growing...... And the garden shower has been painted and is now set up in the garden to help us cool off

We didn’t get the heat wave here, but the rain arrived early instead—it’s heavenly, and we’ve got all the windows open. And I’m sure the gardens all around are happy about it, too.

Yes, we had rain this week, too—it was great for the garden. Everything is growing and thriving; we’re picking berries every day. With today’s heat, it’s time to spend some time on the computer. Tomorrow we’ll be back in the garden. We spend as much time there as we can.

We’re having a hot day today—36 degrees. My husband handles the heat better than I do and is working on our stairs. He’s laying natural stones that I arranged for him like a mosaic.

I’ve watered everything that needed it once all around. Otherwise, with the heat, I prefer to stay indoors during the day—all the blinds are down. But I do go out into the garden in the evening. Then I sit outside until it gets dark, listen to my exciting audiobook, and crochet away. I love that.

We’re having guests over tomorrow. I’ll have to see where I can set up a shady spot for us. It’s my sister’s birthday, and we’re getting together in my garden because it’s so colorful and airy here. I’m going to set a pretty coffee table for her and spoil her.

Everything is always so cozy at Ina’s.
Exactly, Monika—everyone wishes they had a sister like that. I’m picturing it all right now: sitting comfortably in Ina’s garden, enjoying some delicious fruit cake. The pond is babbling nearby, and a light breeze is blowing. That’s really wonderful.

We just aren’t getting any rain here. The few drops that fall evaporate in a flash. It’s stuffy in the apartment—no relief from the heat.
This morning we opened all the windows to create a draft and cool things down a bit. But now the sun is coming out again and heating everything up. It’s not getting any cooler on the 3rd floor.

Have a wonderful Sunday anyway, everyone.
I’m enjoying my last day of vacation, because tomorrow I have to get up early again.

Here, the thunderstorm started around 10:30 p.m. last night, and then the rain came; it went on like that well into the night. I had all the windows slightly open—at least on the side facing away from the storm. The temperature dropped from about 34° to 20° yesterday :-)—it felt heavenly.

It rained quite a bit here overnight, too. So it’s very pleasant today.

We went for a little bike ride, and now we’re having ice cream with fruit salad.
