Dear users, dear authors,
Do you have an exciting new project, or maybe even an unfinished one?

I’m embroidering a picture for my sister, because I’m finally going to visit her again one of these days after 3 1/2 years—thank goodness that’s possible again now, the pandemic has lost its terror, and for once I don’t have a cold :-) I’ll post a photo when it’s finished.

Best, Inge

I’m knitting and crocheting two little dresses at the same time for my 6-year-old, who’s starting school on August 8. She’ll get to pick one of them as her first-day-of-school dress.

Here’s the finished embroidered picture. I digitized the little roses myself a good 10 years ago, and I still really enjoy embroidering them. The saying is from the web; I’ve had it for a few years now.

Best regards, Inge

Oh, you’re making some lovely things there.

Dear Nina, I’d love to see those two little dresses for your little one. I think picking things out is really great! They’re probably summer dresses—what kind of yarn did you use? And did your little one get to help decide on the design (color, shape, pattern)?

Dear Inge, I always love your classic little roses and that saying, too. Can you have something like that embroidered on, say, handmade paper? Then you could use the designs to make cards, too. Or does the embroidery machine not like the paper fibers it’s stitching into?

I haven’t done any crafting. I still have to do my “homework” with the new photos for the doll clothes. That might take a while. Yesterday I recreated the “Basic Fashion” set. One of the seven garments was missing from my stash. So I had to knit it myself following my own pattern from 2017. Here’s the missing piece on my new no-name doll:

Today I wanted to recreate the cover photo with all 7 models, but the weather wasn’t right. Inside the house—at my workspace in the sunroom—it was too dark. Gray clouds in the sky just don’t provide enough light. Now I’m waiting for nice, calm weather with an overcast sky and no sun.

In the meantime, I made jam today from 4.5 kg of strawberries I picked in my garden. I also pulled weeds in the flower bed.

Warm regards, and I hope everyone has a lovely, relaxing evening.
Ina

Yum, strawberry jam.

Inge, I’m so happy for you and your sister that you’re planning to meet up. Your embroidered picture turned out really beautiful.

I’m not feeling very creative right now.

I did a little painting and added some color to a wreath.

And later, we had some delicious ice cream

@ Ina, that works, but it always gums up my needles, because the paper is stretched over adhesive film and that film then makes the needles in the embroidery machine sticky. That’s why I don’t do it. I prefer to embroider on felt or a coarse linen fabric and glue that onto the card, so the needle and the mechanism don’t get sticky.

Best regards, Inge

Of course, I’m still working on the temperature blanket—we’re just past the halfway point now.
And then I started this:

Yeah, yeah, that lovely business of unraveling.... I wanted to knit a children’s vest with alpaca yarn (from my own alpacas). I know I’m not good at math, but I miscounted and miscalculated... instead of size 116, it’s more like size 80....😋 And by the time I realized it... I was already more than halfway through....

I don’t like sewing pieces together, so I’ll just join the front and back, but you really should be able to do the math... and convert it to my gauge

So, time for unraveling and recalculation... this time with the help of a stitch calculator and a regular calculator 😊
