Taking a break after a busy week

Today I’d like to head to the home improvement store and buy a gutter for my little garden shed. Maybe I can collect a little rainwater, but I’m hoping the gutter will keep the runoff from splashing back up and making everything dirty.

And then I’ll retreat to my shady corner and do a little knitting or crocheting.

An older photo—I really need to take some new ones—white isn’t the best color for a little garden shed. Now I’m hoping for a gutter and some plants around the base.

Thanks, Josefa. I also wish everyone here a lovely, sunny weekend without thunderstorms and the like.

I’ll be at my sewing machine and embroidery machine, since we can’t go anywhere anyway.

Hugs, Inge

Thanks, and I wish you all a wonderful weekend, too!
Yeah, we can’t really go out either—it’s gotten too hot on the balcony, so I only sit out there late at night. So here, too, it’s an indoor agenda: crocheting, reading, watching movies, etc.
I baked a cheesecake using one of those ready-made mixes—it’s actually pretty good. That’s really convenient—they last quite a while, so maybe I’ll try out some other things, too.

Yeah, sometimes I think that the older I get, the more a sunny day feels like a rainy day. You just don’t feel like going outside.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I’m going to keep working on my “Kiwi” crochet jacket in white (the pattern is here—thanks again for that; this is already the second jacket I’ve crocheted using it) while sitting out on the patio. Since I often wear short-sleeved T-shirts, my arms are always tan at the bottom and white at the top. That looks silly with sleeveless summer dresses, so I really need this airy little jacket to hide the contrast. And white cotton is easy to work with, even when it’s hot. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
We had some pretty intense thunder and lightning here yesterday, along with a downpour. This morning there was endless fog and it was cool (pleasant), and around noon the sun finally came out.

We wanted to check out the Havel Festival, but I was sooooo tired after work that I fell asleep on the couch.
I’ll probably work on my crochet blanket for a bit, then maybe watch some TV and check the forum, and then it’ll be bedtime again.

Have a nice evening, everyone!

Oh, Andrea, I understand. You can plan whatever you want, but when you’re tired, nothing gets done. The body has its own rules.

It rained quite heavily here yesterday, too. We even had puddles that lingered for a while—we haven’t had that in years. I’m happy for nature in Brandenburg and that it’s no longer dangerously bone-dry. The fire truck sirens were going off every day. The danger has now been somewhat averted. And I didn’t have to water the plants because of that—Mother Nature took care of everything.

Today was my “housework day.” I made elderberry jelly and baked a cherry cake. And I haven’t done any crafts yet. I’m going to do that now! I’m hoping to take care of the grandchildren’s sunshade tomorrow.

I wish everyone a wonderful weekend—enjoy the summer! I just picked a bowl full of Knupper cherries. I’ll be eating them today while watching TV.

Warm regards, Ina

Today I was at the flea market in Grafenau…it was totally worth it…I always find something…lots of stuff for crafts…but today I found a really pretty pot…super heavy and huge…with a copper base…I want to turn it into a solar-powered fountain…kind of like a birdbath…we’ll see what works….
Tomorrow I’ll be writing up some more patterns…. Warm regards from the 🌳 forest

Awesome—I couldn’t have walked past that pot without taking it home, either. Flea markets are the best. I always find something for my garden, too.

Yesterday I built a hedgehog house. We’d love to put out food, but we have so many cats that, unfortunately, keep wandering through our garden that we can’t set it up out there. I’ll go out later to see if they’ve found it yet.

Have a sunny day!

Despite the heat, I ended up going on a shopping spree that lasted for hours.... comfortably on the couch with my tablet, enjoying a cool breeze from the fan! 😂
But how does it always go? You discover a new project, and none of your stash matches it. At first, common sense wins out, and you start something else.... until suddenly even the yarn you have on hand isn’t enough. And then it’s too late..... yippee!
Since there aren’t any yarn shops or craft stores nearby, I headed online. And since I needed lots of different “ingredients,” I ended up on many different sites, discovered new ones I hadn’t even known about before, and—because of various shipping costs or minimum order amounts—ended up adding this and that to my cart.
All in all, a successful day, because I managed to get everything together!

Congratulations. You got everything—great.

Now you just have to be patient until everything arrives at your place.

That’s great, Veronika—that’s exactly how I feel when I browse sites with beautiful fabrics :-)

Hugs, Inge

I can just imagine! When my sewing bug strikes again, I’ll have to expand! 🤣
