There are many ways to mentally prepare a child for starting school. Among other things, decorating their room appropriately can help ease the transition to this next stage of life.



This colorful window decoration fits the theme perfectly! The decoration is made from photo cardstock and tracing paper and measures approximately 49 x 68 cm. It’s easy to make, but due to its size, it requires a bit of patience and a large work surface.

How about a pretty doll dress? This one will enchant all doll moms. You can crochet it in different variations (without beads, with wax beads, with rocaille beads). You can play around with colors and decorations, and you won’t get bored with the patterns either. For the fullness under the dress, we’ll hand-sew a simple petticoat made of tulle.

Water Lily Pillow

You can also play with colors in this project. A thick, raised water lily unfolds from the inside out. The pillow consists of two parts, which we fasten together with hand-crocheted ball buttons. This makes the cover removable and washable. Of course, there’s a crochet chart for the water lily.

With the baby stuffed animals shown below, you can have a lot of fun experimenting with different materials, patterns, and colors. This gives them a very special texture that piques the baby’s curiosity, stimulates their senses, and encourages them to play with their toy again and again.

The head, ears, paws, and tail are crocheted from soft chenille yarn using single crochet stitches. The body is worked in strips. Here we use plush yarn and cotton yarn. Thanks to the double crochet pattern, it’s easy to see the stitches even with the plush yarn.
The inner part of the ears is made from matching fabric scraps. You can sew on cotton fabric, jersey, velour, or corduroy here. The nose and eyes are, of course, embroidered on.
