UFO Landing: Who Can Land a UFO This Week?

Dear users, dear authors,
Who among you can land a UFO this week = finish an unfinished object = finish a craft project that’s been left aside? Have fun crafting. 

When nothing else helps:
Unraveling is also a form of project completion

Oh dear, you’re reminding me of all my UFOs again. But right now, I’m not making any progress at all. I had to rip out my loop scarf. But I’m already further along than I was before.

But I have so many other projects to finish that, unfortunately, there’s not enough time left for knitting.

Let’s see which of the others managed to finish a UFO.....

Oh my gosh. I think I have a whole fleet of them 😂
Right now, I’m sewing a roll-top backpack. My friend’s condition: her faux leather pants and a jersey shirt have to be incorporated into the project, more or less....

I’ve been putting off this whole project for three months and finally started yesterday. Let’s see if I can finish it this month. 

That should read “3 weeks”

I very, very rarely have UFOs lying around—practically never, actually. I don’t like having a UFO lying around anywhere. My daughter recently told me that she has about six craft projects on the go and knits or crochets a little bit on each one now and then; I’d go crazy with so many pieces.

And today I have some news to share: The tablecloth is finished. I started sewing it in 2013, and it was finally finished in 2014. A wedding gift for my daughter. All the guests signed the bedsheet, and I embroidered their names onto it. At some point, a friend realized her name was missing and quickly signed it. The tablecloth sat with me for a veeeery long time while I waited to sew on that last name.

Since there’s a big celebration this weekend for their 10th wedding anniversary, I finished it last Sunday.

I finally finished the backpack! I had some free time today—my husband and kids were out—and a woman has to take advantage of that 😄

I finally finished the phone case I’d promised to make. Since I didn’t like some of the different designs, I had to go back and forth with the person who requested it.

I finally finished it yesterday, and today I’m giving it to them as a gift. 

I’m frogging..... 

I don’t want the big elephant anymore. I was just about to sew it together and stuff it. So I’ll unravel it for a new project. Annoying, but oh well. Better this way than having the finished little creature sit around with no takers.

Today, I literally “landed” a UFO:

Right now I’m spending more time unraveling than knitting, but it’s fun to see the UFOs dwindling.

I finally have two fewer UFOs that had been lying around for quite a while.
It used to be a sweater with sleeves I didn’t like. So I unraveled it and turned it into a top.


This one had been sitting around for a few years because I hadn’t managed to get the top part right.
It was knitted; I also unraveled it and then crocheted the collar.
Now I like it.

Awesome solution for both UFOs. 

Good thing you only unraveled part of it. Your thoughts needed that time to let it sit.

Oh dear, I still have UFOs sitting in my box, too. It’ll be a while before they get to “land.”
