Dear users, dear authors,
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. How’s your personal weatherman doing? Of course, you can always keep yourselves busy with crafts.
Thanks, Josefa—I wish the same for you and everyone else here too!
The local weatherman is still filling up his pond; it rains often and heavily every day. Anyway, I’ve planted some summer flowers on the balcony, baked a cake, and done all my shopping—bring on the weekend!
It’s pretty mild; when it’s not pouring sideways, we can even sit outside, since there’s another balcony above us.
And this is what the temperature chart looked like on May 1:
The weather here is a bit mixed—it can’t quite make up its mind—the sky is still overcast, and it’s even drizzling now and then, though the sun does peek out occasionally, if only very sporadically.
Tomorrow evening, I’m invited to a benefit concert by my daughters—as a Mother’s Day gift, so to speak. My youngest daughter is even performing at that concert with her flute ensemble; she told me she has to play at least one piece on the bass flute. The other piece will be either on the alto or baroque flute—we’ll figure that out. I’m really looking forward to it, because music has played a major role in our family for generations. But I can’t play either the flute or my keyboard—I don’t have enough breath for the flute, and my hands just won’t cooperate on the keyboard anymore. I couldn’t even read or write yet, but I could play the flute :-) My grandpa was a music teacher and literally taught my siblings and me the notes on the flute :-)
Thanks, Josefa—I wish the same for you and everyone else here.
Our weatherman doesn’t have enough rain yet either. Here, it’s alternating between rain, hail, and thunderstorms.
Very rarely does the sun peek out for a brief moment. And it’s over 20 degrees.
It’s supposed to stay that way for the next few days.
I’ll be spending the weekend doing lots of crafts. If possible, I’ll go for a walk, and tomorrow evening two friends are coming over. Then we plan to make pizza.
Best regards — Marina
I wish that for all of you, too, and for Josefa as well. Thank you—
The weather was fantastic today; it was almost unbearably hot on the balcony. I moved my crocheting outside with a cappuccino, ice cream, cake, and whipped cream. Amazing.
I took a long stroll through town today and did a little shopping (no yarn).
But the wind was still blowing, so there’s tons of pollen flying around, which I have to deal with again.
One more thing: when I got back from town, there was a commotion at our place. Fire alarm in front of the building.
There’s a construction site across the street (they’re converting a hut), and a container there was on fire, with thick clouds of smoke.
A few minutes later, three fire trucks arrived and put out the fire with water and foam.
Luckily, we had all the windows closed, but the stairwell stank.
The moment you’re not here, everything goes up in flames.
Take it easy and relax with some crafts, sitting in the garden by the pond with your feet in the grass.
