Mesh shirts: Where does the mesh shirt trend come from? No advertising, just discussion

Mesh shirts are totally in right now. Here are the pretty mesh shirts from the CP shop.
There are some really pretty examples. What do you think of this trend? Is it something for you?

Mesh shirts were already a thing back in the ’80s. Everything just comes back around. ;-)

I like mesh shirts—or mesh vests—because I don’t like walking around in the summer wearing just a sleeveless top. A mesh shirt is a great way to stay cool and breezy. Plus, they’re great for hiding those little problem areas. ;-)

Mesh shirts were already on the rise last summer. This year, I’ve been seeing them more often in stores, so I designed a pattern too.

For one thing, they’re very quick to make, and
for another—as @wollness-oase already mentioned—they hide problem areas.

I have several mesh shirts in my closet. You can just throw one on and you’re dressed!

I love mesh shirts—I somehow just feel good in them. Especially in plus sizes, you can sometimes wear a slightly tighter shirt or dress underneath, because they’re great at concealing. I’m working on one right now and I’m really looking forward to it, because they’re so quick to make.

With different-colored tops underneath, the same mesh shirt looks different every time...
