have a great weekend, everyone. Are you going to a children’s Carnival event or a Carnival party?

Nope, Carnival hasn’t been a thing for me for years. The only Carnival-related thing I treat myself to every year is the Frankenfasching from Veitshöchheim.

So far, we don’t have anything planned for the weekend—we’re going to a parade on Monday, but not before then 😊

Instead, on Sunday we’re going to a dinosaur/natural history museum. I hope the museum won’t be too crowded because of all the events going on.

Personally, we’re not really into Carnival—we used to live “right in the thick of it,” and we always used to flee; non-Carnival fans just can’t stand it in Cologne.
Now, out here on the outskirts of town, you don’t really notice it that much—even the stores are open. Yesterday, at the butcher’s, only the saleswomen were dressed up—that was it.
It’s supposed to rain mostly tomorrow, so I’ll just relax with some reading and crocheting and stuff.

Nope, no Carnival—I’ve been working late shifts for the past 5 days, had just one day off yesterday (Friday), and now I’m back to 6 more late shifts. It’s really draining :-)
I’m ready for a vacation.

I don’t really have anything to do with Carnival (anymore) either. But I wish everyone who’s celebrating lots of fun!

Since it was over 16 degrees yesterday, my temperature blanket got its first summery, sunny-yellow stripe. Today it was a bit cooler again (but still very mild for February).

Time to call it a day.
