I wish you all a wonderful Valentine's Day . How are you all doing?

Thanks, Josefa. I’m actually doing really well—the new treatment from my orthopedist is working well, and I’ve been able to cut back from 4 doses of 30 pain drops a day to 2 doses of 20 drops.
Neither my husband nor I need Valentine’s Day—we know we love each other on the other 364 days of the year, too. In my opinion, this day is just a money-making scheme for florists and chocolate makers.

Inge, I agree with you—we don’t really need Valentine’s Day. Love doesn’t need special days; it should always be there. I’m glad you’re feeling better now!

Oh, am I the exception? 

We always make Valentine’s Day special. Today we’re going to the thermal spa together. The sun is shining brightly—it’s going to be great. 

I hope you all have a special day, no matter how or with whom you enjoy it. One thing is certain: on Valentine’s Day, you don’t need flowers or chocolates. Spending time with a loved one—that’s what matters to me today. 

We’re celebrating a kid’s birthday today :D.

Other than that, Valentine’s Day isn’t really our thing.

I’m on my own this week; my husband is visiting a friend. He’s snowboarding—I’m not really into that, so I’m glad he has someone else (who actually lives in the Alps) to do it with. So this day isn’t that important to me, though we’d probably go out to eat otherwise.
As the saying goes, you should celebrate the holidays as they come.

With that in mind, I wish everyone a happy Valentine’s Day.

The weather here is absolutely wonderful—a bright blue sky and quite mild—and we’ve been sitting out on the balcony enjoying the sun. But we would’ve done that even without Valentine’s Day. 😂 It doesn’t mean much to us anyway; it’s a relatively new phenomenon. When I first started falling in love, we didn’t even celebrate it back then—that came later.

Do we really need this day? But what does “need” even mean? Do we need birthdays, Christmas, wedding anniversaries, and so on? Of course, we should think of our loved ones and bring them joy all year round. But I think these days are always a little special, and we should celebrate them as they come. They really brighten up everyday life.

With that in mind, to everyone: have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
