Dear users, dear authors,
Which of you currently has the very most UFOs—unfinished projects—or craft projects that have been put on hold?
Would you like to share your UFOs and explain why they aren’t finished yet?
I also unraveled another UFO because I went through all my scarves and shawls the other day—I certainly don’t need any more scarves—so I unraveled them, and the yarn is now being knitted into a blanket :-) When it comes to sewing, I never have any UFOs, because once I start a sewing project, I see it through to the end. I do have some fabric lying around, but no pattern has caught my eye yet and made me think, “Yes, this is the pattern I want,” so those aren’t UFOs either :-)
Actually, I do have one UFO—a crocheted bag where all that’s left is to attach the strap, but I don’t like any of the options I’ve tried. Eventually, the perfect solution will surely come to me, and then it’ll be done in no time.
The temperature blanket isn’t a UFO, though—I just work one row on it every day.
Other than that, everything’s finished, and I’m on the lookout for my next project.
Oh my, that reminds me of something… my UFOs, all neatly tucked away in plastic containers, waiting to be sewn together. There are already about seven knitting projects, and time and again I swear that before I start a new one, I’ll finish the old one… ha, but a scarf here and there is still allowed, right? What do you think? *-)
I don’t have any UFOs, but I do have three projects going at the same time: a slipover on my knitting needles, a pair of wrist warmers on my crochet hook, and a granny-square crochet blanket as a long-term project.
…there must be around 50 of them—scattered all over the house!
Oh yes, I often lose the thread
or something new just pops into my head out of the blue…it’s really bad here! 🌸
But eventually, they’ll all be finished and written up!
I’ve got quite a few of those left unfinished myself. A scarf made entirely of granny squares, a sweater where I had to start the back over because I didn’t have enough yarn in that color after all 🙈
Then there’s a polar bear rug where the double crochet stitches keep taking me to a new count—I have no idea why I end up with a different number every time. And a few more here and there 😅
I’ve tracked down one of my UFOs and am currently knitting it to completion. It was supposed to be a jacket, and all that was missing were the sleeves. I could have worn it as a vest, but I didn’t really like that idea, so it’s been floating around my room since 2020.... As of yesterday, only one sleeve is left 😊 and it’s already on the needle.
Things are looking pretty good now in orbit—hardly any UFO sightings left.
I actually only have one crochet project in progress right now that isn’t finished.
At the risk of some of you thinking I’m completely crazy: Yesterday I “got rid of” at least 15 UFOs, some of which had moved into this house with me as UFOs back in 2017.
Yesterday I did a radical clean-out of my yarn stash and donated most of it... (Let’s be honest... I doubt that yarn—some of which cost a fortune—wants to just sit around here for decades. Better to find it a new home where it’ll be appreciated and actually used!)
I either did the unraveling on all the UFOs and put them in the scrap box, or—if I absolutely didn’t have anything that went with them anymore and the yarn was already “fraying”—I threw some of them away.
Yeah… So, to sum it up: 0 crochet UFOs! I’ve never been this low before ;)
However, I still have a few sweaters in size 98 or so in my sewing closet that I cut out but never sewed together—they’ve been sitting there for a year—and I’ll probably never finish them because I don’t even remember what goes with what or which sewing pattern it was…
Bottom line: I have to finish things right away, otherwise I’ll never get them done :D
