Dear users, dear authors,
dear little helpers,
are you busy crafting?

I’m working on knitting a blanket diagonally in garter stitch; the blanket will be one solid color. I have two big balls of yarn, 500 grams each, for the blanket.
Then I pimped up a fruit crate :-) this time with felt and just hot glue—man, that stuff is hot :-))))))

Best, Inge

Since this little box is quite well padded, it’ll serve as a bed for my scissors, so the tips are protected and won’t bump into things everywhere and become dull and flat

Best regards, Inge

Contrary to all my principles, I currently have three projects on the go. Well, there will almost always be two this year, because one is the temperature blanket, where only one row is crocheted each day.
Then I’m still working my way through my Advent calendar—right now, a grinning seahorse made with gorgeous variegated yarn.
And then I gave away one of the last teddy bears and have to make another one for the sister right away, but that one goes relatively quickly; it’ll be done tomorrow.

@Inge
You’ve made a lovely little bed for your scissors. And I see the “bare wooden legs” are covered up, too. It looks very cozy. Yes, hot glue is really nasty. I once got a drop on my finger while working on a project—that was really painful.

@veronika

Things never get boring with you. I once crocheted a temperature blanket, too, and found it a real test of patience that I was only allowed to crochet one row per day. So I started collecting data and writing down the temperatures over several days. That way, I was able to crochet for five days straight.

*******

I’m currently working on two projects:

1. I’m sewing myself a mini dress with flared sleeves. The sleeves are tight at the top and flare out at the bottom. I still need to shorten them to the right length. Now the neckline is giving me trouble. It’s too wide, and the dress keeps slipping off my shoulders. I asked for advice on our sewing forum.

2. I dug out the new pattern I’d started. I’d set it aside in early December because Christmas was coming up. Now I want to keep working on it. There are some issues there, too, that I still need to figure out. But I can’t tell you any more than that.

I hope you all have a relaxing evening.

Best wishes, Ina

Ina, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you’ll find a solution for your neckline. I really like the colors, and the wide sleeves are interesting.

I’m crocheting a pennant—a gift

for a new baby. Here I am at the yarn shop doing a color test.

I’m in the middle of crocheting around the second Christmas bauble.

I’m always hard at work :). But I actually made this grain pillow back at Christmas—a patchwork project made from scraps.

Best regards, Sonja

Yesterday I made a new holder for my scissors, and today I put them into specially distinguishable cases—now they’re really well protected, and I can see at a glance which scissors are where.
I bought the *gardening shears for ragtime quilts; they let me trim the open seams without getting cramps in my hand. Next to them are my pinking shears and a special pair of embroidery scissors, then my paper scissors. At the bottom are the green-and-colorful cutting shears, as well as the ones with the golden handles—those are also cutting shears—then my appliqué scissors and a small pair for trimming threads while sewing. All these scissors need a good, stable place so they don’t get damaged.

Best, Inge
