"Comments" Feature

Hi everyone,
can anyone explain to me what the "Comments" feature is for?
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find out yet if there’s a feature somewhere that notifies me when someone has left a message in the comment section. Or do I really have to click on my patterns every day to see that?
Wouldn’t it make sense to give customers who want to
leave a comment a note saying, “Please ask the seller questions via a private message” (or something similar)? I think that would be more customer-friendly, because I’d also be disappointed if I didn’t get a reply for a whole week.
What’s the point of the thread “Seller on vacation—please post here” if customers who ask a question in the comments section while the seller is away still don’t get a reply?

Hi there,

the system sends you an email when someone leaves a comment.
I’m not entirely sure, but I think the link is included right there.
At least I didn’t have to search long to find where the comment was posted.

Where does this email go? Here on the CP site under “Messages,” or to my private email inbox? I didn’t receive an email in either place. I only discovered by chance that someone had asked a question in the comment section while I was away.

I received the email at the address I provided here at CP. 
The one where the message also goes when something is approved. 
Maybe there’s also a checkbox somewhere that you have to tick? 
Hmmm, unfortunately I don’t know what else to suggest right now either.

I also think that this may be due to my settings, but unfortunately I don't know where.
When a product is approved, I receive an email in my personal email inbox.
But so far I haven't received an email there when someone has left a comment.

Maybe I'll get a reply here from a CP staff member too,
I posted the question specifically under "Support and Help".

I'm not a CP employee either, but I'd like to add to what Birgit said that nothing needs to be clicked; the notification happens automatically, but for me all such messages, for whatever reason, end up in the spam folder. Maybe that's the case for you too.
