My first pattern last week was made from leftover yarn; my second pattern will be finished by tomorrow at the latest—this one is made from an entire Bobbiny. Early next week, there’ll be another pattern made from leftover yarn—this time, some cute little decorations for Christmas or winter.
In between, I crocheted a baby crib following the pattern by otti.berlin—really brilliant, and also made from leftovers.
For me, using up leftover yarn usually means small in-between projects, and they’re often great for clearing my head.
My yarn diet is also “on hold.” I’m just saying: vacation yarn. I just couldn’t say no.
There are still so many projects waiting at the same time that I’d love to crochet.
Exactly, Veronika. We’re allergic to yarn diets 😀 wonderful
Yes, really. There are always boxes on the side of the road with “Free” written on them. We go for a lot of walks, and by now I’ve developed an eye for these things.
And that’s how I found some school yarn. Red, green, black, and yellow. Only the yellow one had been started with crochet. Of course, that makes me especially happy.
On Saturday, we found egg cups and salt and pepper shakers for Easter. A rooster and a hen—how funny!
My “wool diet” has definitely come to an end. I went shopping...
But every skein of yarn has its purpose. This time I didn’t buy a skein just because it was pretty. But I can tell you, I did get to feel some really beautiful yarn. Great colors, and some of it was so soft.
A hat for my grandson
And once again, my grandson picked out yarn for a hat—rainbow colors
I’m making a pillow for my son’s birthday with this yarn. I want to crochet a figure into it, probably C2C
This will be a new shawl for me—it’s no warmer than 19 degrees in the office. Time to bundle up.
Yarn diet... well, it’s going pretty well at the moment...
Right now one of my favorite yarns is even on sale, 53% off, Twister Solid by Hobbii, and still I’m not ordering it. Such beautiful colors, but right now I really wouldn’t know what to knit with it. And “my” dyers also have really lovely yarns in their shop.
I’m going to empty out my yarn cupboard and sort through it over the next few days. I’m sure quite a lot of it will be looking for a new home.
Maybe it will find a new roof over its head with one or another of you here on CP...
I also think freebie boxes are great; they’re just very rare around here, though I do live outside Dortmund (about 2 km)...
