Looking for a recipe from my childhood.... Does anyone know how to make it?

Hey there... Maybe someone can help????
My aunt used to make a really delicious dessert “back in the day”—it must have been around 1976. As far as I can remember, it was made with juice, was pink, and really light and fluffy...
Unfortunately, I can’t remember what it was called at all.
Now I’ve found the following entry in “Grandma’s” recipe notebook....

Does anyone happen to have any idea how I can combine the ingredients?
The little booklet is packed with ancient “recipes,” and most of them only list ingredients....

Hey,
that sounds like a jelly foam. Maybe make a jelly from fruit juice with gelatin, and once it’s cooled slightly, fold in beaten egg whites? Best regards, Birgit

Hi Steffi

take a look on Chefkoch. There are similar recipes there, e.g. Grandma’s apple juice pudding or wine cream.

The pudding has almost the same ingredients,

Maybe it will work then.

Thanks for your tips.
It (almost) worked.... Next time I’ll have to wait longer—it was still too warm for the beaten egg whites 🙈—but the taste was just great.
It’s kind of a shame that no one ever showed me how to cook. Now I have this “one-of-a-kind” little recipe booklet and always have to guess what to make next....
Anyway, this attempt was so delicious that I only got a small bowlful. My husband helped himself to the “rest” in a late-night
“munching spree” from the fridge.
Next week, I’ll make it again—there are still a few small bottles of elderberry juice in the cupboard, and there’s already new juice available...

My mother often complained that she’d inherited so few recipes from her own mother, so I decided that wouldn’t happen to me. My niece and I have been (and are still) compiling a family cookbook; all the old recipes from the participating families are now being written down in detail. We’ve then recreated each one and photographed it so people know exactly what it’s supposed to look like.

My grandma could have made all of that too — or baked it, rather. ...
There are recipes in there like “Lotte’s Thunderstorm Cake” 😊 or “Lina’s Almond Krinkel, Christmas 1933”....
I think the idea of a family cookbook is absolutely lovely. A really great idea. Unfortunately, no one here is interested in doing it — or rather, no one here can actually cook or bake....

What a wonderful idea with the family cookbook! Somewhere I still have my mother’s recipe booklet, and I’ve already copied a few recipes into my folder (especially Christmas cookies). Luckily, all my kids love to cook and bake, and for my second grandchild, a baking recipe can’t be elaborate enough!
