Hi,
I have lots of partially used balls of Schachenmayr Catania. Some still have half to a quarter of a ball left. Does anyone have any ideas for what I could make with them? There are lots of different colors, some of which don’t really go together.
Thanks
Sandra
maybe you have a little girl at home—in that case, this summer hat would be a great way to use up your leftover yarn:

The skirt can also be made beautifully from leftover yarn:

Feel free to browse my shop—I work a lot with Catania and have several patterns that are especially well suited for leftovers.
Otherwise, a blanket made from leftovers also looks great—perhaps worked in rows or as a classic granny square blanket.
Hello,
feel free to stop by my shop; I also work a lot with Catania, maybe you'll find something you like. Lots of smaller items, perfect for leftovers.
Best regards https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/store/WollholicClaudia
Take a look at the “Recommendations” section of the forum. Further down, there’s a thread with patterns for using up leftover yarn.
Otherwise, the sunglasses in my shop are crocheted with Catania. You can also crochet the “Princess Lila” comfort blanket entirely with Catania. You’ll find the link to the shop in my signature.
@Authors: I have repeatedly asked you to advertise only in the promotional threads in the Recommendations subforum. https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/forum/thread/8/empfehlungen
Please stick to this. The purpose of a forum is discussion and exchange. The Recommendations subforum is a compromise solution that has worked well so far.
Advertising in threads that are not promotional threads created by me will be removed. Thank you for your understanding.
I’m sorry.
I didn’t “ignore” this on purpose; I just hadn’t seen a request like this before—of course, that’s my “fault.”
Please delete my ad; unfortunately, I can’t do that myself.
I turned this thread into a promotional thread and moved it to the Recommendations section.
So it’s okay this time, but please be a little more careful in the future.
Hi Josefa,
It was my “fault,” but I just didn’t have any idea what to do with all my leftover yarn, so I’m very grateful for the ideas.
Best regards, Sandra
@Sandra
no, it wasn't your fault.
It's just that a forum with advertising all over the place tends to put users off, which is why ads are only allowed in the recommendations section.
But back to the topic.
Here's another link with nice patterns for using up leftover yarn:
https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/forum/topic/12604/wollreste-nicht-verschwenden-mach-was-schoenes-aus-den-resten
If you enter "leftover yarn" in the search function at the top, you'll get an amazing 403 patterns.

Is there anything there for you?
Knitting / crocheting / knooking with leftover yarn is a really big topic here on crazypatterns, and people keep searching for it again and again. That's why we keep making threads about it.
You're not the only one who has lots of leftover yarn at home and would like to make something with it.
The combination of leftover yarn + crochet for beginners + a small, inexpensive pattern is also searched for again and again. A lot of people really like that. After all, almost everyone has leftover yarn, you can make quick progress with crochet, it's fairly quick to learn, and everyone likes buying things at a low price. Of course, more extensive patterns aren't quite as inexpensive, but for small leftover-yarn patterns you normally don't have to pay much. The point is that you can get started right away with patterns for leftover yarn, because the yarn is already on hand and doesn't need to be bought anymore + the patterns here on CP can be downloaded immediately, as long as there is money in your prepaid account or if you pay with PayPal.
Since I agreed with operator / Alexander to bump the topic of leftover yarn every now and then, I would have opened another thread this week anyway about crafting with leftover yarn.
But you've saved me the work. Thanks for that :)
Would you like to join in here more often?
There are lots of experienced authors in the forum, you can ask them anything and get competent answers. And of course the shop with all the lovely patterns is nice too. :-)
Since I only topped up my account again today, I’m starting with the free patterns. An idea I had last night: stuffed animals for refugee children.
I’ll make one now and then ask at the clothing bank whether they could use something like that.
I’ve firmly resolved not to buy any more yarn until I’ve worked through some of my leftover yarn.
Well, that plan lasted until this afternoon, and then I found some great yarn for a summer cowl. :-)
