When crocheting hand puppets, you can really let your creativity run wild! They’re something truly special because you can design them individually, exactly according to your own ideas. They’re also lighter and therefore easier for children to play with than puppets with wooden heads.
Here I’m showing you a few main characters for the puppet theater from my shop:
Gretel
is a must-have in any puppet theater. She has braided her blonde hair into a pretty plait and wears a stylish dirndl. She’s Kasperl’s sensible friend, but she’s also always a little timid and worried.
Seppel
is, of course, always there too. He’s a bit naive and a real scaredy-cat, but always a good and loyal friend to Kasperl. You can recognize him by his lederhosen and his “Seppel hat.”
Kasperl’s grandmother
is known for her good cooking. Sometimes she’s a little strict when Kasperl and his friends get up to too much nonsense, but she’s also good-natured and fair. She’s fearless and will even take on the robber and the witch when necessary.
So, have you been tempted to crochet these characters? Take a look in your scrap box and get inspired! And then crochet your very own Kasperl puppets!
