It's still summery, but the cool days are sure to come! And then you need something to snuggle up in.
When I'm doing crafts or when it gets cool in the evening, I wrap my
Autumn Leaf Shawl
around my shoulders. It's a little longer in the back because I especially like it a bit warmer there. The leaf shape and the colorful shades, which come straight from the skein here, naturally fit especially well in autumn.
If I want to be even a little warmer, I cover myself with my
Temperature Blanket
, which I crocheted in 2021. A temperature blanket like this is an exciting project. Every day, you work one row in the color you have assigned to that day's temperature (e.g., around midday). You can choose the colors yourself. The color gradient, however, comes about randomly through the corresponding temperatures. You can crochet a blanket for the current year, but also one for past years (e.g., the year of birth). Everything you need to know is in the pattern.
And sometimes I feel especially chilly. For that, I also have one of my
Animal-Shaped Heat Cushions
(here it's a little monkey). The little animal's belly can be opened with a zipper. Inside there is a grain pillow that is placed in the microwave for a few minutes. Then it goes back into the little monkey. And now it spreads a cozy warmth when you cuddle with the little animal. My grandchildren especially love these warming animals when they come in from the cold in winter feeling chilled. It's also wonderful in the evening at bedtime when a cuddly toy like this prewarms the bed.
